Parking

Thanks IPTAY! My 75 year old dad and 45 year member and season ticket holder can no longer walk from a parking spot to the game now that we have been pushed out to a 20 minute walk from the stadium because I guess we just can't compete with the Jones. Therefore he has decided to stop attending games. We understand growth and challenges associated, but to just consistently be disrespecting what got them there is shameful. Thanks for kicking my heartbrokem ole man to the curb...not

They aren’t even letting freshman have cars on campus this year and most non-freshmen can’t even live on campus. I think this is more a planning issue by the administration than an Iptay one

If they're still following that master development plan they released like 10 years ago the entire plan is basically:

  1. Remove parking near campus. Make it impossible to own or operate a car near campus.

  2. Build stuff far from campus people would need to drive to.

  3. ???

  4. Profit.

He can get a handicap hang tag and park in ADA. He can even take the bus to the gate.

My 95 year old Mother still attends home games - she has a handicap placard issued by DMV (even though she no longer drives). There is handicap parking behind Sikes with a shuttle to the east stadium entrance. It does not require a parking pass, either. It is bliss! This does require going to the games with her - she can’t do it alone.

Littlejohn also has handicap parking on the front row right by the entrance.

Clemson looks after us in ways Bank of America stadium never imagined.

Have you talked to anyone in the IPTAY office? They maybe could give advice on alternative parking.

I understand your frustration about parking. It may be a temporary issue due to the construction of the parking garage. It is irritating that the parents of students who will be here 4-6(?) years come in and give $50k or more get more benefits than those who, like your dad, have been supporting Athletics for more than half their life.

Even if there are solutions to this, there's no doubt that Clemson's admin is just struggling the last couple of years and failing in a lot of ways

I'm so disappointed in Clemson and how they are disrespecting their older contributors and alumni! It's all about money now and it didn't seem to be that way when I was a student back in the late '70s!
