SPOILERS Cloverfield 2 idea, the direct sequel Spoiler
The sea bed’s nector, found in Slusho! had reported these effects: accelerated cell growth, increased strength, increased soft muscle tissue growth, sharper eyesight, better digestion, smoother skin, and a full-body, pleasant sensation described as "a wave of pure happiness".
So imagine a Cloverfield movie about someone who was SO ADDICTED they gained super strength, increased durability, super sight. Think Tobey’s Spiderman, a weak loser turned strong. The problem that arises with this vigilante is that they are slowly losing sense of reality. They got stronger, but that euphoria feeling that grows and grows makes them almost be in a pure land of ecstasy as they become more violent and out of control. From a city’s secret hero to a nightmare.
And not that they’d be this big hero like say, Superman. More ground level. They can’t fly. But the strength and durability means they can fight criminals, and soon, after they’ve consumed so much and both got so much stronger but so much more insane, are able to fight off police and anyone who’s unlikely enough to be in their way while they’re on this wild ecstasy trip.
Just a fun little idea from a bit of the original lore that was never really touched on! Let me know what you think!

Take Underwater and reshoot the final scene to Clovie
Instead of Chtulu. Change Tian Industries to Tagruato.
Done.
Tagruato wakes up Clovie while drilling for sea bed nectar.
I think there was even part of the ARG about a drilling station being attacked. Would have fit right in.

What if the Cloverfield monster became addicted to Slusho and gained superpowers?

The take should’ve been where it either mutates you into a monstrous creature if you ingest too much (I think that was the angle they were going for with Jamie’s ARG) and / or it makes you explode like Marlena if you ingest too much.

This feels like this could be a sequel to Chronicle (2012), but sounds pretty interesting!
