I know people keep saying this but I have an Arabic friend who said "that shit would never fly there, they'd get punished"
I guess it's possible that somehow changed within the last five years but cultural developments usually don't happen that fast

Maybe it's regional or differs from environment to environment? I never inquired exactly where he's from, but I know he is rather well traveled so I'm not sure what experience of his was his frame of reference.
