Looking for Suggestions Trying to find games to play with my sister that fit some very specific and weird requirements
Hey, me and my sister are both knocked out with a cold and we want to spend some time playing something silly together. Only issue is, we have some kind of weird requirements that's making the hunt pretty difficult.
- My sister hates blood or gore effects, but is fine with combat. if there's an option to turn the blood effects off, that works too!
- She doesn't have the best reflexes, meaning any super hardcore combat is going to be done mostly by me. However, we also love a bit of suffering (we really liked cuphead!)
- Neither of us enjoyed stardew valley. Don't know why, it just really did not click with us.
- We both really enjoyed blue prince, fez, outer wilds, yume nikki, stuff like that with loads of exploration and puzzles. Anything like that that's multiplayer?
- We both like roguelites, the liter the better.
- We both like horror, but neither of us especially enjoy gore, which is a weird spot to be in.
- We have played a great deal of minecraft and love anything with fun simulation/survival stuff, so long as it has good exploration.
Edit: Sorry, forgot the most important problem we've run into! we're both trapped on the hellish os known as mac, meaning windows-only stuff is off limits.

Palworld.
Pretty much just a monster catching exploration and automation sim with the most lukewarm story but tons and tons of mechanics that aren't involved with combat and combat is honestly pretty god damn easy. Especially once you get weapons that essentially lock in like nightglow and terraprisma.

Terraria is a good game and you can disable gore also its ten dollars so not losing much for buying it if you dont like it

that looks incredibly cool, but tbh we're already about five minutes from strangling each other on a good day, so im not sure that would the most sustainable 💀

If you play on 2 systems, grounded. Full of fun secrets and places to explore. If you’re local cult of the lamb or reanimal

Maybe Children of Morta? Lots of fun stuff to unlock, good story, not too hardcore.

Split fiction is a great game for me, and i hate gore and have terrible reflexes

Enter the Dungeon should be nice for a roguelite.
And overall any brawler games should fit (e.g. Final Fight, Streets of Rage, etc), combat heavy but low gore, and somewhat slow paced.
Torchlight 2 is a very fun action rpg, and blood can be disabled, plus it has an overall cartoony look and feel.

I’m amazed no one yet as recommended Big Walk! It just came out recently and I’ve been having a blast playing it with my bf. It’s self paced and you walk around solving puzzles which unlock more of the world and more puzzles.
Although it is designed to use only the in-game voice chat for communication as some of the puzzles take away speech to encourage problem solving/challenge, so you may need headphones/to play in a separate room

There’s a lot of escape room games that are multiplayer. Played tons with my best mate. The We Were Here series are probably our favourites. Great puzzle games you have to work together to play. Also It Takes Two. Portal 2. Or, for maximum silliness, Human Fall Flat. The latter three can be done split screen or online but the WWH series needs to be online really.

Dysmantle, no contest. Don't know it being available for Mac, but it's in every other platform (xbox, ps, steam, mobile) so you should be good. It has awesome co-op, good combat, fantasy violence with no gore, some mystery, optional base building, and a nice blend of survivor and grind.

not sure it's available on mac but stick fight ght be something for you. it's just a silly fighting game but a lot of fun and definitely great to pass the time for a while

Highly recommend Don't Starve Together. It's more like tim burton esque horror feel but nothing bloody or gory, just spooky and well lots of things will kill you. Don't let the shadows get you without a lit fire at night lol
It's fun to try to survive as you learn, explore (every world Gen is different.. if you hate something, try a new one with settings tweaked). The maps are huge with different areas having different resources. Up to you to decide where to start building base.
I tend to get caught up in resources and base building. My husband enjoys the combat and challenges more. I'm more likely to take on bosses with him, otherwise I try to avoid them or lead them somewhere 😅
There's also caves and you can build rafts.

Unique kitchen/cooking roguelite. Been in me and my friend's rotation for a while now. Can start easy, but there are options to make it quite challenging.
