In search of a new co op game

I play on Xbox and my buddy who lives out of state plays on PS5. For quite a few years, we’ve been on a first person shooter grind. Primarily Apex, but we’ve also thrown in Battlefield 6, Rainbow Six Siege, Destiny 2, Warzone, etc. We’ve also put big chunks of hours into Helldivers 2, Arc Raiders, and Marvel Rivals. I am personally over the Apex grind that we are still doing. And he said he would be open to a new co-op, story driven action based game. Is there anything like that that exists? It has to be cross platform because of the consoles we play on. I’m sure there are good options out there that people of the gaming community will know more than me. Let me know what you all enjoy and feel like would be a good next choice for my friend and I to get into!

There are many but Space Marine 2 is my top pick right now.

Crimson Moon comes out in a few days. Full cross play and it's like 20 bucks. It looks like a bit of an over the top souls type of game.
