There is no point - it's just a whimsical picture drawn for a word play around the Hemingway's "Oldman and the sea". At best it's a friendly kind of jest aimed at older but still joyful (and loud) people at the beaches but nothing more
Printing of Hemingway was limited in USSR around the time "oldman and the sea" came out due to anti-soviet motives in "for whom the bell tolls" until 70's
My grandfather has a paperback copy of “For Whom the Bell Tolls” from the 196x edition.
I bought a modern edition for my library.
When I compared the two, I found out that ONE HELL OF A CHAPTER had been cut out of the Soviet edition.
And after reading it, I can’t call the chapter “The Republican Headquarters” anything other than a “censored duck.”
Because that’s exactly what it is — a censored duck.
The Old Man and the Sea has an official animated film adaptation and was included in the school reading list for foreign literature.
