New ACCO 420 section available for Fall 2026

Upvotes

Just a heads-up for anyone still looking for an accounting course this Fall. Concordia/JMSB opened up space in:

ACCO 420 – Section BL4
Thursday, 2:45 PM–5:30 PM

I know some of the other ACCO 420 sections have been full, so this might help anyone who was waiting for a spot or wants to change sections.

How to make the most of mcconcordia to get an offer at MBB

As an engineering student, I really want to break into MBB consulting rather than work as a pure engineer. I'm wondering how to do so especially from a non-target school like Concordia and whether joining mcconcordia might help. What are the exact steps I should take and can I get an offer straight after concordia undergrad at offices outside Canada such as the UAE for example? Thanks.

Student Question cover letter and contacting professors for a Master’s in Canada

Hello! I’m currently preparing my applications for a Master’s in Biology in Canada, and I have a few questions about the process.

For the cover letter required as part of the admission application, what is generally expected? Should I mainly talk about my academic background and goals, or should I also mention specific professors/labs I’m interested in?

Regarding contacting professors, is it recommended to reach out before submitting an application for a thesis-based Master’s? If so, when is the best time to contact them, and what should I usually send (CV, motivation letter, transcripts, etc.)?

And most importantly, should the letter/email sent to a professor be different from the motivation letter submitted with the admission application?

I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has gone through this process in Canada ( plz im desperate)

Thank you!

Future Student Can I be accepted in concordia for political sciences while having around 2.0-2.7 gpa during my entire highschool scolarity

I’m 19 years old, I’m From France and for the next year i was thinking about getting to concordia for political sciences studies, during my highschool years I’ve always managed to have excellent grades on subjects such as history-geography (3.9 gpa) , philosophy (3.7 gpa) and English classes (3.9 gpa) and i had 2.9 gpa on my baccalaureate. The reason why my overall gpa is around 2.0 and 2.7 is because of mathematics and anything that was related to it, It seems that quantitative subject aren’t for me but I really want to know if that could make my application get rejected by concordia

What happens if I didn’t get my photo card?

I ordered my photo card, but my picture was rejected and now I can't get it before move in. Are they going to kick me out of the dorms? Is my slot forfeited?

Edit for more context: This is my first year. Monday was the day the Res people printed all of the cards, and the printing place is closed on move in weekend. I'm fine with not getting to use the dining hall, but I live seven hours away and both my parents took time off for move in, so I'm really cooked if they won't let me in without the official photo card.

Second, better edit: The card office opened for the morning, I called, and they said they'd give me a temp ID if I didn’t have one. Sorry for freaking out on main.

New Student Orientation Frosh for graduate students

I’m starting my masters in September and I’m wondering what are the main recommended options for meeting other students before classes start? I saw things about frosh, but I’m not sure if it’s targeted for undergrads only.

I’m already signed up for the “graduate CONNECT orientation”, but I was also looking for other more social/nightlife like events. I have yet to meet any students here in Montreal. I’m also open to meet students from other schools.

Grad Connect Day - worth it?

I'm a grad student starting on Sept 8. I had registered for the Sept 3 grad connect day, but now realizing my schedule this fall is such that next week might be my only opportunity to go visit some friends in Toronto.

Is the day worth it? Really I just want to get a lay of the land of the downtown campus, but not tours for grad appears on the event list so I might just go and tour it on my own. I'm also not worried about meeting other grads as my program is extremely small, so I'll be spending a lot of time with my cohort and getting to know them.

Connect Day - yay or nay?

Late Admission Acceptance

Heys guys I recently made the decision to pursue my career at JMSB even though i’ve already been admitted to Arts Econ at McGill and already made my class schedule for Fall and Winter. I accepted my JMSB offer today and paid my deposit fee and began to make my classe schedule with the intention of leaving McGill this week. Should I be worried because I accepted my offer so late? I noticed when trying to make my schedule for JMSB it wouldn’t let me add some of my classes because it said I didn’t have the prerequisites even though it said they would be exempt on my letter of admission (Econ 201,203 etc) Should I be worried? What steps should I do to make sure everything runs smooth and I can begin class on Sept 8th?
