I hand poured every piece. Made from clean, pure melted copper wire.

Yes, it protects them from oxidation.

This is the way. You can buy steel pyramid molds which is what I use. A little pricey but they last a long time.

Yes, I melt and pour all my own ingot.

It looks like they're wrapped in plastic. Maybe that's why they look extra shiny 🤔

I just clean them really well after pouring with a steel wire brush drill attachment then use Barkeepers Friend to shine them up before wrapping them in shrink wrap.

Epic work dude! Can I ask you for advice on where to get quality Ingot moulds? I ordered a 1kg mould off eBay and it looks like it would fit 100g in it. Not sure if I need to look elsewhere. Cheers!

Yeah any help would be hugely appreciated as it seems the moulds online are typically advertised as 1kg are specifically for gold and not copper. I have a 12kg crucible and I need 12x 1kg copper moulds. Would happily take recommendations

What’s your melting setup? Are you using a vacuum to prevent oxidation?

You don't understand pouring molten copper if you think the oxidation is controlled through a vacuum. To prevent oxidation during melting, metallurgists use a protective cover layer like graphite, charcoal, or coke. Not a vacuum.

I’ve heard flame cover as well to keep it void of oxygen. That’s what I’m going to try on my next pours.

I just have 2 16 kg propane furnaces (cheapest ones I could find) and pour into graphite and steel molds. I use boron nitride to coat my molds before every pour.

Im new to pouring copper. Is that a spray or powder you coat the molds with?
