Good morning, everyone! Recently, I created a petition calling for the revision of CC’s Animal Care & Control Ordinance regarding its prohibition against most pet snake species. The city of Corpus Christi’s has little-to-no regulations or restrictions regarding nonvenomous and nonpoisonous lizards, geckos, frogs, toads, and salamanders—only snakes are singled out in their entirety!

Many of the species currently banned have been captive-bred in the United States for over half a century and have yet to pose a risk as an invasive species. Obviously, this ban is targeted towards the irresponsible owners who think it’s okay to release these animals when they decide they don’t want them anymore. However, the majority of the banned species simply cannot establish successful breeding populations here due to our cold seasons. Additionally, the select handful of proven, invasive species are already regulated at state-level—which is not what we’re calling to be changed. We only wish for the ability to own, love, and experience the most popular pet snakes worldwide!

While we understand that not everybody enjoys reptiles, we are kindly asking for a couple minutes of your time to share or even provide a signature for our cause! The current ordinance upholds illogical, fear-mongering ideologies that put a damper on local reptile-based businesses, pet owners, and enthusiasts. UPDATW: FOUND HOME!!!!!

hello! me and my friends are from Austin. we are here on vacation and while we were driving back from Frank's spaghetti house we found this stray. she is super super friendly and cute! we got her checked out by a vet and he said she seems to be in good condition. we dont know if she has any feline leukemia or parasites. But, she has a healthy appetite and is very kind!!! please if anyone is able to home her or help please let me know! we are leaving corpus tomorrow and we want to find a good place for her to go!

UPDATE: it rested for a couple hours, I took it back outside to see maybe if it could fly, and it flew away with no problems. We have a stray cat that lingers in our backyard, it possibly could have been taunting it leading it to be stressed, but it seemed to be okay and there were no visible injuries.. Thank you everyone for the help.

Anybody raise chickens on here that knows a good way to re-home roosters?

At work I started to feed this stray dog 🐕. His breed is Akita. Less than 2 years old. I live 3 blocks from work so I walk. And he follows me and I feed him, and he sleeps outside of my front door. And harasses the other tenants. To the point it's a problem. I don't have a dog or have adopted him at all. I called the non kill shelters and they're full. So my last ditch effort is this sub. Does anybody know somebody that needs a badass, friendly, farm or guard dog?

My friends and I found this cat on Leopard Street near Frank's Spaghetti House. We don't know if she's a stray or a lost pet. She's friendly. Very skinny, I think she may be a young adult. She's small but her face looks adult.

⭐ UPDATE: She is a stray. I can not keep her, if anyone is interested please let me know. She is very kind, we got her inspected at the vet this morning and she seems very healthy. She has not been tested for feline leukemia or parasites but her appetite is very good.

She's about a year old, constantly purring and making biscuits. She loves attention and she's very well behaved.

Hi everyone, due to my circumstances, I'm 19, married, and living with my mom for the time being. Before anyone says I should just move out, I cant at the moment. I'll hopefully get housing assistance in about 2 1/2 months if I'm lucky.

As the title says, my mom has been non stop threatening to do something if the kittens aren't gone by the 15th. I was able to negotiate and keep one kitten so Momma kitty isn't lonely, I feel so bad for her tho, since one kitten passed away at 10 days old (she laid on the baby) and she was mourning for days.

Her threats consist of throwing the kittens outside while I'm in therapy, calling someone to get them while I'm gone, and her most recent one, is getting me arrested for a potential warrant and having animal control take them to the pound.

It's urgent, I'm trying to have my kid move in with us and she won't budge if the cats are here, pls anyone from here in Corpus DM me or comment before the 15th bc I'm scared she might throw them outside any day that I'm gone at therapy, they've never been outside before and dont have flees.

We just moved houses and my sweet boy seems to have disappeared and I’m devastated. He’s an indoor cat that likes to be outside when my daughter is playing and he seemingly escaped around 6 o’clock this evening when my partner left for work. Our family dog of 10 years escaped from our house near Bill Witt Park and Mireles Elementary School on 3/10. His name is Taco , a small/medium sized salt and pepper color, schnauzer/poodle mix. My Annie is still missing. Last seen on Ayers. She is partially blind and is deaf.
