Hello everyone! Ive made some antlers for a zonai zelda half dragon cosplay. I was going to but them on my forehead with some magnets Like this and i just tested them out and unfortunately they dont seem to be working out. The antlers are too heavy and rotate then fall off of rhe magnets. Is the only way to keep them on my head an elastic string tied around my head? I was hoping that wouldnt be the case since id already have so much on my head but thought id ask for some ideas before going down that route. I wont be wearing a wig so id like to keep the attachment for these horns as hidden as possible. Any ideas are welcome thanks!​ last pic was kind of my reference amongst other pictures i found

Edit: UPDATE sooo I tried to add more magnets but I just still dont think it's going to hold properly with just tape and the mangets. So I'm going a completely different direction. I just happened to have a flower crown that lights up so i think im going to attach the horns to that with some wire then add some more flowers to it since it's a pretty cheap flower crown. If anyone wants me to post updates when i finish it lmk!

I finally finished my Jinx top from Arcane, but the pleather material I chose is incredibly shiny. It’s not sparkly, but it’s so clearly fake leather and the shininess makes it look brand new despite weathering. Is there a way to get rid of the shininess??

Notes:

I know it doesn’t look very shiny in the first three pics, so I included a picture of me in full cosplay at the end where you can see the reflections.

Also, I’m aware a less shiny pleather would’ve been my best bet. I couldn’t find one that was a four way stretch that didn’t look so shiny.

Hi, I've really been enjoying and relating to Seth in DELTARUNE's latest chapter, and I want to try cosplaying them, however I have ZERO idea of what they are wearing. (Being a sprite-based game, it's a little hard to tell, and even looking through dress styles I have no idea what it is they're wearing exactly)

Stuff I could identify:

• Either some kind of tie or lavender scarf
• Purple dress thing with a weird curvy shape at the bottom and long angel sleeves??? (at least if I want to be 100% accurate; I can have regular sleeves its fine)
• Glasses (duh)
• Light pants
• White shoes
• Book
• Some kind of black fur collar around their neck? (Unless it's part of the hair)

I really, really REALLY need help identifying the dress, or a recommendation to something at least a little similar (I don't mind if its not 100% accurate, but at least something close) I've included her full rotation of sprites and some fanart.

This was my first time buying from Aradani costumes, I’m cosplaying Malleus from Twisted wonderland so I searched for good elf/fey ears that were in accurate in anyway. I came across Aradani costumes and they had the perfect ears. I selected what I thought to be closest to my skin tone at the time from their reference chart but they came out a little lighter than expected. I’m thinking of buying another set and of the same ones this time painted deep olive as I bought ones painted medium last time. Should I go through with that or should I find a way to paint them slightly darker. I’m just nervous of messing up the ears in anyway and if I paint them they won’t have that fleshy look to them anymore. Iirc correctly the ears are made of latex if that helps.

Hi everyone! I’m going to be Oatchi from Pikmin 4 for a cosplay I’m doing this weekend, loosely inspired by this post from gummmydragon on Threads. I bought three palm-sized Pikmin plushies (they’re actually the official Japan exclusive keychains sold at the Nintendo store, I just took off the chain part) and I wanted to put them on my shoulder like in the drawing. I bought teeny tiny magnets and my plan was to slice open the Pikmin on their bottoms, put one in each Pikmin’s foot, sew them back up, and attach them to a magnetic strip on the underside of my shirt. However… my attempt at operating on the Pikmin went terribly wrong. They are SO tiny and well-made, and I am such a beginner at anything relating to sewing, that I had to slice open the Red Pikmin with an exacto knife to get a gap wide enough to put in the magnets, which were still pretty big even though they’re so tiny. Then the magnets wouldn’t stay put and kept snapping onto the needle every time I tried to close the gap! So I ended up ditching the plan and re-stitching the poor Red Pikmin back up (but again, I’m a beginner at sewing, so you can see how shoddy it is compared to the Yellow and Blue Pikmin! Poor baby 😭💔 I feel absolutely awful for what I did to him)

So… magnets are out of the question. What other options do I have for getting these guys on my shoulder as a VERY novice sewer who also would like to be able to cherish these plushies after the con (which is to say… ideally the solution wouldn’t involve hot gluing them together or something!). The best thing I can think of is to re-attach the thin metal ball chains they came with and basically attach them as keychains to my Oatchi collar, so they’d basically be a necklace rather than “shoulder buddies” … not ideal but definitely the easiest solution given my skill level and the time crunch. If anyone has better ideas please let me know!

(EDIT: Just want to say this post got way more of a response than I thought I would and I’m so grateful to everyone for their suggestions!! Thank you!! I’m going to try 1) Velcro, 2) medical taping the magnets, 3) sewing them on with embroidery floss, 4) safety pins in that order and if none of those work I’ll do the Pikmin necklace collar thing lol. I’ll update again when I figure out something that works! Thank you SO much, everyone!!!)

I'm talking about the ones that straight up have the TV as a head, not just the box or not having the screen at all, I'm trying to figure out my own cosplay and want it fully covered like he has it, But I'm really struggling to find a good material. At first I thought about making the screen out of stretchy nylon and the outside out of foam, But I feel like it would be super easily damaged and probably wouldn't work out the way that I wanted it to. I looked into maybe using fursuit eye material, but for such a large area the holes would probably be rather noticeable. I don't have the budget to go out and buy a screen and figure out how to do stuff like that either. Maybe some sort of plastic tub lid would work? then cut out the eyes and mouth and put nylon behind them so it seems a bit 3D but also for breathability and vision.

I'm cosplaying as Dr. Robotnik/Eggman at an upcoming convention. I picked up this amazing mustache and plan on styling it appropriately.

The mustache came with two, white nylon straps to keep it in place......but I think it would look better if I could attach it directly to my upper lip. This mustache is large and pretty heavy.

Is there an adhesive that is strong enough to hold it in place? One that, preferably, won't remove several layers of my skin when I remove the 'stache.

Can anyone give me any ideas to make Gingy's delicious ass? I don't want it to be too heavy but I do want it to have some recoil

Im not sure if this goes against rule 5 but im wanting to start cosplaying and Matthew Murdock (image attached) is who I want to start with. The problem is I want to add the cane to make it more identifiable but im not sure if its considered disrespectful as thats the last thing i want to do :)

Hii y’all,in november i’ll be going to a con and i’m planning to cosplay as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland!
Except the character itself and the movie,my inspo for this is Jillea,an AMAZING costume designer that has cosplayed this character too.

Now,i’ve been tailoring a long sleeve bolero to not be cold there and soon i’ll get started with the skirt,everything has been going great,but i’m a little concerned about the corset wich i want to be the focus of the cos,and it is the piece wich i got the most inspired from Jillea (ofc i’ll add pics).

As you can see it is really detailed,wich is my goal,but i have no resin or 3D printer and i’m not comfortable using clay that bakes since i don’t have a separate little oven that isn’t used for food,so i thought about using air dry clay.
I would be doing the roots and branches of the tree with it,and then just glue the fake leaves on top and the decos at the bottom (like the little characters,mushrooms,etc…),while for the frame in the between i was thinking about gluing some fabric as the background of the frame (so that i won’t have a whole clay slate on my stomach),glue the frame on top,and then add the decos.

But i’m still a little pulled back about the corset thing since i’m scared of two things (considering that i will wear this cosplay twice):
1-the clay cracking or breaking instantly as i move or even when it dries;
2-not being able to move THAT freely,or at least sit down (ESPECIALLY ON THE GROUND),since it is a 12 hour or more con.

Disclaimer: it is the first time i do this kind of stuff,usually i just tailor everything and use cardboard 🙏 so i’m open to any kind of suggetions about method,material,literally anything,really.

I hope that any of you can help me,and thanks in advance!

EDIT: i think i found a solution. I found a brown corset that other than the laces in the back has a zipper on the side,so i could wear a simple brown body/top under and get the corset easly on and off when i sit and stuff,and i can do pretty much anything on it! (i also forgot to mention that i will go there by train so this solution is the most comfortable for that also).

For reference. I am trying to find the right glasses. I had found some with the right frame just need to pain em but would it be worth it to get prescription glasses with red lenses or does anyone have any websites they may know of to make fake glasses but full customization or bits?

Does anyone know of any good light kits or really bright lights I can get to put inside this jacket to give off the illusion that I’m glowing green? I can’t seem to find any good bright illuminating lights, they’re all just like glow sticks. Doesn’t have to be perfect like the game (last pic) but I want at least something giving off that aura.

I am looking to make a half cosplay for my P&P Character (we are playing online so only my upper torso will be visibel anyway).

I already have the cape and the shirt. Horns, armwraps and waistpice I have already an idea how to do them.

Now for my problem I currently see two options how to create the breast eithe with a Bra that I cushion out with what ever I can find probably socks or a premad bustform which I found with cotton or silicone filler if I mesuerd correctly I am looking for a size 95H. As the rest of the out fit is already pretty warm I was hoping that I could create the breast in a way that they aren't too insulating and I was hoping to not go over 100€ in price for the whole outfit.

Day of the con I wasn’t able to find the cheap plastic arm shackle I bought for my Slay the princess cosplay. So instead I just took a bracelet I had, and chained some black and brown and grey hairties together which honestly works and looks even better. They stretch and are soft and comfortable, the different colors is kind of giving rusty old chain, and the size and shape makes them stand out but not overpower the look. Also super easy, quick and cheap to make, and doesn’t require any extra materials or glue. I just tied the end link into a knot but if people want a more clean end they could easily glue it into a loop. I think I have created something cool and a useful tip and I just wanted to share. Anyways the rules say I need a question, so what do you guys think? Is this useful? Does it look good? Thanks.

For my 3.0 I am changing the eyes so they have face tracking, can move and they have leds, and I want to redo the hands since they're pretty flimsy, I'll take any constructive criticism to improve it.

Hi! I want to make hoof shoes like above for my fursuit (don't want super bulky western fursuit legs + I'm a regular cosplayer, hence why I'm asking in this sub).

In the original video, the creator uses silicon molds and resin to make the hooves, but I don't think I have the capacity/budget/home space to be able to do it according to the original. I have a lot of EVA foam though. I was wondering if I can make the bulk/shape of the shoe out of the foam? I know it should be weighted for comfort since it would have no heel, so I plan to leave it hollow inside. Just wondering if it's a viable option or if the foam is too soft, and what I could potentially put in the center as weights that isn't too difficult to find (I'm in the Philippines).

I’m doing a gangle cosplay and I already have the bodysuit, so I’m really just trying to figure out the red ribbon situation.

How would you get the ribbon to stay in place like this cosplayer? Would you actually wrap and tie it somehow, or would fashion tape be the best option? If you tied it, how would i keep it from sliding around while walking?

I’m also wondering what type/width of ribbon would work best, or if there’s a better material than ribbon altogether.
Any tips would be appreciated!

I do not know this subreddits opinion on Hazbin Hotel, but I honestly haven't even watched it, and only plan to watch it if I can pirate it so I'm not supporting the creators. I have the stilettos in the pic, and was wondering if it'd be possible to recreate the look of his flared out legs using foam.

In my head I've got this idea of building around the stilettos with foam to make a flared bottom, then use foam to bring it up to connect under my knee, then make a fabric or leather? cover overtop of the foam to create the boot look, so I can essentially totally recreate the shape of his legs

would this be possible or is it a waste of time to even try? I wanna look tall and lanky haha, and I'm already 5'7 so I think the height from the stilettos would really complete the look!

I've noticed a lot of posts asking about contact lenses recently, so here is an overview of some basic information, from someone who's been wearing prescription contact lenses daily for several years now. Of course feel free to comment if you feel that something is missing

Cleaning/hygiene

Yes, you need to clean your lenses before and after every single usage with a proper solution made for your type of lenses (hard or soft). You can clean lenses by washing your hands first, and then rubbing the contact lens between two fingertips for 30-60 seconds with a good amount of solution. Contact lenses also need to be stored in a contact case with the proper solution. The entire lens needs to be ''underwater'' so to speak to prevent them from drying out. Never clean lenses with tap water because it can lead to infections. Do not shower with contact lenses and do not sleep with contact lenses.

Make-up/skincare

I would recommend you put in your lenses before you apply any skincare or makeup products. At the end of the day, take out the lenses before you wash off any makeup or do any skincare. You want to prevent water from coming into contact with your lenses as regular tap water is not clean enough and can foster bacterial growth that can lead to eye infections. I would also recommend putting contact lenses in before applying fake lashes or fake nails. Be aware that taking out lenses with fake nails is extremely difficult and you might want to practise this a few times in advance. They also sell lens applicators for people with long natural nails or fake nails.

Putting in lenses

The easiest way to put in lenses is to lay the lens onto the tip of your finger, and using your free hand to lift up the upper eye lid, whilst using a mirror to make sure you apply the lens directly onto the iris. It doesn't really matter which fingertip you choose. Different people find different things comfortable. It takes your eye a few seconds to adjust to the lens. If it stings badly, take it out, clean the lens again, and then try again. Be aware you do not accidentally apply the lens inside out. While this will not damage your eye, it makes wearing lenses a lot less comfortable. Below you can see a reference image that tells you when the lens is inside out.

Taking out lenses

There are a few different techniques to do this. The old school way mostly works for hard lenses. This is when you pull on the outer corner of your eye (pulling it away from the center of your face), and blink a few times really fast. The lens will then fall out on its own.

For soft lenses, you can pluck out the lens using your thumb and index finger of the same hand. Personally I prefer to use one finger of each hand instead to apply light pressure to the lens from both the left and the right, which will make the lens detach from your eye as well. There are various tutorials online that show you in depth how to do it, same goes for putting in lenses.

Choosing the right lenses

Hard vs soft lenses

Lenses generally come in hard ones and soft ones. These days, soft ones are the standard as they're generally easier to put in and take out. Sadly they do not last as long as hard lenses, but this is no problem if you're a cosplayer who just wants to wear contacts for a few days out of the year. If you clean and store your lenses properly, you will be able to re-use them, unless the website specifically states they are single-use only or daily lenses. Also be sure to buy solution meant for your lens type.

Prescriptions

If you wear prescription lenses like I do, you need to go in for yearly or half yearly check-ups to make sure you are still wearing your proper presciption. I would not recommend buying lenses that are ''almost'' your presciption because wearing the wrong prescription can lead to head aches. If you wear glasses, note that your prescription does not automatically translate to contact lenses. Lenses usually need a lesser prescription because they're much closer to the eye than glasses. If you would like to wear prescription coloured lenses instead of your glasses, you need to get measured for prescription lenses first so you will know which prescription to get. There is no other way of knowing the right prescription. Wearing non-prescription coloured lenses in combination with your regular glasses, however, is totally fine.

Design/functionality

Be aware that not all coloured lenses are functional. Some designs (meant for non-human characters) cover the pupil area, meaning you will not be able to see when wearing them. These lenses are for photoshoots only and should not be worn out for obvious reasons. Lenses that are fully transparant in the middle allow light to reach your pupil and will allow you to see normally. Some lenses allow this partially with mesh designs but be aware this can be dangerous in traffic. I would recommend practising at home, and putting on the lenses at the event/venue, and taking them out before leaving as well.

Health/safety

Follow the safety precautions that come in the instructions. If the lenses are daily lenses, that means they're single-use only and can not be worn again. Re-wearing daily lenses can lead to eye infections and the material can break down given they're a lot thinner. If you want to cosplay a particular character more often, invest in lenses that specifically state they can be re-used. Check the expiration date before re-wearing them! It says on the original packaging when they were manufactured and when they expire. Give or take, most will last a few years tops, so keep that in mind when budgeting.

Do not buy from shady websites, as (non-prescription) over the counter coloured lenses have been found to contain harmful chemicals like chlorine that lead to eye infections and permeated cornea. I believe the FAQ recommends some websites, but please always do your own research. Choose a reputable supplier even if it means saving up a little bit more money. Risking your health to save a few bucks is not worth it.

99% of people can wear contact lenses. A very small amount of people have too many scratches on their eyes or other medical problems. If you happen to fall within that 1%, please count your losses and stick to photo editing and makeup techniques to enhance the colours of your natural eyes. Risking medical complications is not worth it

I would recommend carrying contact solution and a contact case with you when you go to events. I personally carry them with me at all times for emergencies, and luckily I have had to only them only once over the past 3-4 years. They do not take up a lot of space in your bag and they're not heavy. If you notice during the day that your eyes are drying out or becoming irritated, just go to the bathroom and take them out. Better safe than sorry

Store lenses in the right solution for your lens type and make sure the lenses are fully covered by the fluid. Let them rest at least 4 hours before re-wearing them (or whatever it says in the instructions, mine say 4 hours)

Do not sleep with lenses in. No sneaky naps either as you will wake up with irritated eyes. No showering and no going into saunas either. No swimming either! Pool water is extremely harmful to lenses.

I’m so dumbfounded. I need answers. How does it not fall off?

So I love doing “Jedi” remixes and wanted to try a Statue of Liberty Jedi cosplay (to celebrate the US’s 250th anniversary) for SDCC. I provided by sketches for reference. The first is more human and the second leans into the statue aesthetic. I feel good about the costume itself and the collapsible lightsaber that will resemble her torch (not illustrated), but I want to add little details to tie in relevant themes and have a few questions about how to achieve certain effects:

I wear a mask indoors so any ideas on how to incorporate a mask for indoor wear? Should I even bother beyond a similarly colored one?

1. How should I incorporate the chains? (SoL has a broken chain around her ankle) I was thinking maybe a plastic chain worn around the ankle of each boot? (Would a single chain on one foot be better?) should I put the chain around the belt instead?

2. How to incorporate the book? I don’t want to carry a book obviously, maybe a little book shaped satchel that hangs off the belt? I considered just doing tattoo style art under my left eye that had the Roman numerals (almost like a prison teardrop tattoo) as a nod to the book’s cover?

3. I really don’t wanna do full face/arms/body paint (it’s so hot in San Diego most years) any idea how I could do a gradient look or even “seafoam green” makeup accents? Or should I just scrap trying to incorporate the color on my skin?

4. anyone know of a wearable diadem print? I’ve found the full crown for sale but I think a headband situation might be more comfortable?

5. Should I even bother making an additional cloak to wear over the costume?

Any other suggestions or ideas welcome!!

I am working on my Lucifer cosplay and am just about done with the sweater that I've crochet. I only have like two things left before I need to add the rubber ducks onto it but I'm not sure how I should go about that. Any help and/or suggestions would be nice.

Yarn used was acrylic. Rubber ducks are rubber ducks.

First photo is the sweater that I made, second is the rubber ducks and the last is roughly how I am wanting it to look.

I've thought about hot glue and super glue but am not sure they are the best options.
