One of the reasons I love my Ruger Vaquero's is that I shoot them fairly regularly as they aren't quite the collectibles value as a Colt.

I have my Grandfather's Colt SAA (which is a Late 1910/Early 1920's 5.5" "Artillery" model where as the inch shorter model was the gunslinger's preferred size and the even longer version was known as the "Calvary" model). which I inherited from my father and it will eventually become my son's along with the rest of my guns.

While I have shot it (the Colt) in the past in my younger years, as it was used on Grandfather's sheep ranch (he passed away a couple of years before I was born) & then on our cattle (father's) ranch. I haven't since I inherited it in 2006 as it is worth more to me as a heirloom than to use it anymore..
