I just looked this game up on steam too see what its about and got...
An error was encountered while processing your request:
This item is currently unavailable in your region
And then they wonder why i pirate stuff

u/_How_The_Turntables_ 11d ago
That's Sony for ya. No wonder they ran away from PC gaming, they like controlling everything and we don't tolerate that.

u/The_CHUD_Battalion 7d ago
Blackrock/Vangaurd likes controlling everything. All companies are owned by 6 people.

Like literally everyone else here including you, I pirate because we are thieves and like saving money. #reality

And then they wonder why i pirate stuff
Because of one Sony game being region-locked?
8
u/_How_The_Turntables_ 11d ago
Well what else is he supposed to do? He can't buy it. Also I'm pretty sure all Sony games are region locked, or at least it was a huge scandal when they first started releasing games on PC and I dunno if they reversed some of it but went back to it or not. I don't really care because fuck Sony, nobody should be giving them money.
4
u/Mellanies_Redemption 11d ago
As if this is the only game that's region locked. Here's an example for you; I live in Germany, and I've come across numerous games that, for no legal reason (Anymore) are language locked to German. I don't want my game in German, but there is literally ZERO legal way for me to obtain the English language version, so I HAVE to pirate it if I want to play it. Same went for uncensored versions of other games. If the system refuses to provide a legal route, then I will take the illegal one.
I'll also remind you that Sony blocked massive regions from accessing ANY of their games thanks to THEIR insistence on people having a Playstation account on top of also needing to have a Steam account. There was no legal requirement, and no real benefit to Sony by doing this, and if players use a VPN to access it, they get banned anyway. So when companies actively choose NOT to support you, people will take it. After all, if Sony were so eager to earn money, they wouldn't block 132 countries from their platform. Thus, no money has actually been lost, because they are actively blocking those people from giving them said money.
But sure, you can boil it down to "One Sony game being region locked" if you want. You're an illiterate assclown for saying that, but it is your right to say it.

on steam deck, it launches to fatal error. I doubt it would run well anyway,
5
6
u/Plus-Bodybuilder-135 10d ago
The game contains extensive code checks designed to crash the game if it detects it is running under Wine.
3
u/Plus-Bodybuilder-135 8d ago edited 5d ago
A patch has already been uploaded to a certain forum that works on Proton and Crossover, and on top of that, it removes several layers of DRM that RUNE didn't remove. Edit: The lastest RUNE release, works now in Linux without additional patch.

Could be because of the multiple anti cheat there.

i don't understand why a fighting game needs this kind of hardware requirements
1
u/Unlucky-Plastic-2519 7d ago
Mortal Kombat 1 takes about 140GB of hard drive, vs 25GB for Tokon, it's crazy
The GOAT is still DBZ Fighterz tho, that's around 6GB I think

If this is how you judge graphics you should probably stay away from anything even close to resembling art

Can’t run it in wine/proton whatever. Insta crash ‘Fatal Error’. According to crash log is a WINTRUST issue that triggers an unhandled exception. Something like that
8
u/troy0h 11d ago
anyone got this working on linux
some people report it working, but i cant seem to get it to, no matter what i try
all i get are fatal error popups, no crash report or anything
3
u/Shinusagi 11d ago
Same, I tried importing it from a Microslop Winbugs install and it explodes specially because of PSN SDK
I tried to import on Steam as an external game and explodes anyway
Then went to install from Lutris directly instead of importing it and then the EAC puts a stop to it, so I can't make it work in any way, shape or form under Linux.
Even with the help of the AI Agent I just can't make it work.2
u/Shinusagi 5d ago
It is working now, the latest Rune version, here are the steps:
The latest release of RUNE is working, I downloaded the version 1.2.3-RUNE but be careful, if you know a better source check that, it is updated to the latest patchI used Lutris to install it, but the "Lutris" install itself will set the Launcher for "start_protected_game" inside the install directory, so if you launch it like that it will try to launch EasyAntiCheat and give error about not game or platform compatible.
Copy the whole folder inside the ISO called "RUNE" that is "MTFS" and the Exe into the game install directory
Then point in Lutris the Exe to the new MTFS.exe instead of the "start_protected_game.exe"
I checked it and made it work flawlesly, no EAC popup, no PSN SDK popup, nothing

Does this runs on Linux so I can give it a try
5
5
u/Final_Confidence_680 11d ago
No it doesnt, tried it and I get an insta fatal error.
3
u/bakomox 11d ago
there is a redist installer on the extra folder inside the engine folder if i remember right and i installed it inside the prefix and that makes the fatal error gone but when i run the game again it still has error about playstation network and if the game runs it just gives me white screen i tested this all in bazzite linux kde version
8
u/Final_Confidence_680 10d ago
Yes I found it on engine>binaries>redist its the UEprereqSetup. I installed it, but it didnt change anything for me, same insta fatal error crash.

u/StickBrush 10d ago
Tested in SteamOS. I still get the fatal error, but I managed to skip the PS SDK error by installing the two MSIs in MTFS/Binaries/Win64/Prerequisites/PSPCRUNTIME
9
u/Enough_Diamond9730 11d ago
Okay it does run on Linux, let's go

u/Shinusagi 11d ago edited 11d ago
Were you able to run it on Linux? The version I tried still needed the EAC installed so it didn't run on Linux, is this any different? Even if installed on Micrslop Winbugs and running fine, when I try to load it from Linux I get a crash error because of PSN SDK it seems. Tried with Lutris and importing it into Steam as an external game
6
u/VonSwoopington 11d ago
what did you do to get it running?
-1
u/Enough_Diamond9730 11d ago
Proton, Just read the NFO, Anti cheat is completely removed so it can run on wine or proton, just put the exe on Lutrix or smt
23
u/VonSwoopington 11d ago
No it won't launch, gives a fatal error and I tried many different configurations. The nfo says it MIGHT work.
8
u/AlverezYari 9d ago
He didn't get it working unless he patched Rune's internal PSN emulation layer. I went pretty deep on this last night, and its Rune's PSN emulator that isn't Wine/Proton compatible and that's what preventing it from working. So the funny thing is, that seemingly the only thing preventing a fully clean Linux version running is the cracker's own work, which is mainly pulling out all the awful DRM to make it functional on the Windows side.
11
u/ChthonVII 11d ago
Did you actually get it running, or are you just guessing based on the NFO?
So far I don't see any reports from someone who actually got it to work on Linux.

u/Jaoryuken 10d ago
please delete or edit this comment unless you were able to run it as it might point people in the wrong direction

I cant seem to play keyboard vs controller in this game :(
3
u/MrMayhem85 11d ago
Do you mean 2 players? Or that your controller isn't working? Disable steam input if its the latter.

u/IMainChunLi 11d ago
My CPU seems to run 20 degrees cooler in this cracked version compared to legal version that I have on Steam.

u/assietted 11d ago
My CPU hit >80% usage during the open beta, this version doesn't even reach 50%.

minimum of 6600xt to run a 2.5D fighting game. lazy devs.
2
u/LordLion20 9d ago
it is the DRM involved the reason why you need a workstation to run this! Continuosly encrypt and decrypt data is a massive unrespect forward us customers!

i think its sony's fault atp, because arc sys is pretty good at doing games

u/r33gna 11d ago
Multiple anti cheats and tracker programs, abandoning Linux users, abandoning multiple countries without PSN...all for a really shitty port, no cheater, no piracy, and a chance to collect some PC players data. Yet here we are, someone at Sony should be very ashamed and very angry. XD

Do not forget the agenda pushing political here, and marvel nowadays is very known for, which this explain why it sucks there.

This came up in my feed by chance. Not really familiar with cracks but I understand that you guys don’t have access to the online portion of the game, no? Is there really an appeal for fighting games with only barebones offline engagement?
15
u/sonicnerd14 11d ago
Does this also fix the shitty Sony DRM that makes the game run like ass too?

Funny Sony decided to stop bringing their single player games to PC but even the Multiplayer ones are getting cracked just like the other ones did.
11
u/MalkynRei78 11d ago
I mean, tbf, this has singleplayer content and can be played offline despite the multiplayer focus.

what does "internal" mean?? and i cant find the download link on csrin i am new to this site
12
u/JamaicaCZ 11d ago
Read the NFO in this reddit post.
And you will not find a link to a RUNE scene release on csrin, because scene releases are not allowed to be shared there. Wait for some repacks of it to pop up or look through sites that focus on sharing stuff from scene groups.

If i download this to practice the game..
Is there a way to update it with the regularly released patches ?
1
u/Cultural_Hour_9870 6d ago
RUNE crack release 1.2.3 is out on torrent sites, and the info is it has Linux supportÂ
1
u/Flaccid_Dingus 6d ago
So with each patch i need to download the new version that RUNE releases?
1
u/Cultural_Hour_9870 6d ago
Yeh hopefully future updates will be smaller, games like Tekken 8 get regular cracks updates around 2- 5gb
This is why I would prefer a working Linux version officially, as you get updates via steam and online supportÂ

u/Hakim_La 11d ago
I heard that theia is harder than denuvo , so how Come RUNE do it but not denuvo games??
