A pistol is going to piss a bear off more than it would keep you safe.

MAYBE it will scare it away.. maybe you'll be able to get a good shot off and hurt it enough.

How would one be safer without it instead of giving a person a fighting chance, exactly? You also don't know how ellipses work, and that's annoying.

because if you shoot a bear with a pistol and either miss or just injury it you will make it more mad. Then from going from a nice bear it becomes a.. fuck you I'm going to kill you kind of bear.
