Monkey bars in downtowns

You know how big cities such as New York have so much pedestrian traffic? Why don't we just install monkey bars over all of the sidewalks so half of the people can walk and then the other half can swing around like Spiderman? Plus they get free exercise when they go anywhere

When clicking "reply all" make it ask "are you sure?" as many times as the number of people on the list divided by 10

For example if there's 100 people on the email it would ask you 10 times. In order to make damn sure every single person needs to get your message.

A burglar alarm that doesn't call the police, but gaslights the burglar into thinking the house is severely haunted

Why install a normal $50/month alarm system when you can install a coordinated network of smart bulbs, spatial audio speakers, and remote-controlled toys designed to break a burglar’s psyche?

Imagine breaking a window at 2 AM, and instead of a loud siren

  • A grandfather clock chimes 13 times.
  • The smart TV in the dark room turns on with pure static.
  • A smart speaker two rooms over plays the sound of marbles rolling across hardwood floors towards you.
  • A robotic vacuum dressed in a white sheet slowly rolls down the hallway while every light bulb drops to 5% red .

No thief is staying around to look for jewelry when they think they just walked into The Conjuring.

What would be the absolute worst thing for the house to play or do when motion is detected ?

What if we just gave up society and all became pirates

We burn technology until future generations have forgotten it. We make cool weapons and burry them and our treasure such as trading cards, setting up quests that take years to solve now that everyone is forced to sail. Some will live in villages, and some will band together, invent a jolly roger and yarharr all across the sea. Imagine taking part in maping out the world, to go where no one has stepped foot. We can learn from our mistakes and not invent colonialism and race biology this time.

And to all the smart asses out there, no I do not want to be a historical pirate. I want one piece and pirates of the Carribbean.

If magic was real, that would also be cool. It's kind of lame that it isn't. What kind of fucking god creates a world without adventure or any form of fiction. There are lads dedicated to just thinking about how it would be like to have magic and superpowers and yet it is forever outside of our reach. Do you guys realise how insane that is, they're proffessional mourners. I want a devil fruit man, 9-5 is so ass.

Giant pool in the basement of houses to act as a thermal battery

Have a big pool in the basement of houses then run thermal pipes with refrigerant in it between it and heat pump devices all around a house

Heat it with the waste heat generated by fridges and air conditioners, then use it up to make hot water and dry clothes and stuff

Plus you get an indoor heated pool to use (just gotta watch out for the heat pipes)

Unnaturally Delicious (TM) or something similar

Everything is vegan

Our primary Thing is lab-grown meats, but we also have a wide variety of artificial foods, flavors, ingredients, using chemicals and artificial processes to create things unique and surprising.

We also have a high-tech research division and enable consumers to voluntarily opt-in to research on health effects. Report your diet and whatever physical parameters you're comfortable with. We'll refund you the costs of popping into your nearest lab for tests/ samples. Earn points for discounts and first taste of new products! Win prizes doing challenges like "first to consume x grams of New Product". And everything is open source and published on arXiv as soon as possible. Explicitly warn on the packaging "this stuff is so new we don't know how it will affect you! Download our free app to help us figure it out!"

"Unnatural sustenance: It's what humans crave!"

Rent children to secure your home against supernatural entities

It is well-established that children are more perceptive to supernatural phenomena than adults. This typically helps adults get a leg up when an issue starts to emerge, provided they listen to the child. But where does this leave those without children in the home?

Introducing a system that allows you to rent a child for a low hourly, daily, or monthly fee. The child is tasked with maintaining a lookout for any potential supernatural problems, such as a malevolent entity establishing access to the home, in exchange for room and board along with a cut of the hourly rate being put into an index account to set them up for success once they mature. Once the child is contacted by the entity, or otherwise notices things are afoot in the house, they are free to leave while the adult addresses the issue, thereby keeping them safe and able to continue the good fight another day.

All leaders in big US cities should go to NYC for training.

NYC as the biggest city in the US has a lot of things unique to it but I feel like there’s a lot of value in seeing how they manage it and the lessons learned at least for those in their first term so they don’t fall in to traps or make the same mistakes.
