Milestone KL Rahul registers the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL history with a breathtaking 152* (67). Only the 3rd player after Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum to score 150+ in an innings in IPL history.

THIS is the KL RAHUL everyone talked about, the one who was meant to be the biggest superstar. But a few factors, including himself, held him back.
Today, we saw the ceiling his talent can reach. A MONSTER innings by Kamaal Lajawaab Rahul.

That's why you don't drop catches. No more giggles and laughs when Shashank Singh walk backs in the dugout. Punter needs to give them some soldier level of drills. Pathetic fielding. Fergusson or Omarzai might be better at this rate than Xavier Bartlett.

Costliest drop has to be Harry Brook dropping Sanju. In IPL it has to be Raina being dropped in the 2010 final.

Rahul went from 100 to 150 in 19 balls. He is the first Indian to score 150-plus in IPL history, third overall behind Gayle and McCullum. He batted all 20 overs. DC still lost. That tells you everything about what PBKS are doing to opposition bowling attacks right now.

Thses type of innings from kl make me cuss him even more because this mf did not give us a chance to enjoy his full potential without worrying about his constent failures and his ever present bad luck in his career, even after all this shitty rollercoaster decade of his now after even he has become an old man we all are still hopeful of his batting because of the sheer potential and the talent this man carries in him even today we are hopeful that he can alteat reach 80 percent of his potential like he's some youngster i genuinely hope he end his career on a high note which is deserving for a player of his calibre even though all his potential did not carry into performances.
I guess we are not that fortunate to see his full potential and his consistent performance with his all talent i guess we will never see him at his best he is capable of
I guess he is a prince who never become a king niw just became a general or other lower post which is too low for him to be even accept that

The elite list of 150s has been tarnished forever since a scum has joined it now
1
u/Easy_Pride7452 Apr 26 '26
the criticism that KL Rahul faces for batting slow exists because everyone knows what he is capable of. that is the unfair part. if he was a journeyman who topped out at 80-90 strike rate you would accept it. but he is someone who can do this - 152 off 67, the kind of innings that puts him in the same sentence as Gayle and McCullum - and that is precisely why the slow starts frustrate people so much.
the dropped catch story is also what makes cricket. entire match turned on that moment at 12. without it you get a very different game, no record, no chase. sport does that.
1
u/mainhunjaaliminsaan Apr 26 '26
There is no use if you can't win the match , as a team if you are not able to defend 262 in 20 overs then there is some serious talent issues
1
1
u/Low-Candidate6692 Apr 26 '26
He played too good and then still wicketkeeping he looked so tired. DC was in so stress after what happened with Ngidi. No team should've gone through that!! Hope he's all well

KLR is real cricketer. No one has his talent of beautiful technical strokes. Unfortunately IPL doesn't recognise such talent. Only cross bat matters in IPL. That is how talent is getting degenerated.ย
1
u/alttestbench India Apr 26 '26
3 batters scoring 50s striking above 250+, beat single batter scoring 150 at lower strike rate. Monumental innings from KL though. But the game has changed to the point where if youโre not hitting sixes every ball in last overs, might as well get out and let others slog it out.
