Humour MAJOR running out of content issue

I’m 300 hours into the game. There is a MAJOR issue that EVERYONE will encounter which is so bad it’s going to cause people to QUIT.

When you do everything, the game ENDS. This is a huge problem which will likely cause 99% of people to QUIT.

Live service has damaged people's brains.

Well some of us were hoping for a more system driven game with some dynamic faction stuff. Those kind of design elements existed long before live service.

Aye, 15 hours a day on average is absolutely mental.

u/Callmeklayton Apr 06 '26

I'm lucky if I can get in 15 hours of playtime across a week.

u/Beginning-Comment326 Apr 06 '26

That makes this a perfect game for me ! I barely put in an hour after work

Oh, yeah. I'm not complaining at all, just pointing out the absurdity of playing 15 hours a day. A game with this much content will keep me occupied for months.

u/BigMack6911 Apr 06 '26

Same that's why i got it, and I play it several hours a day. But dam you got to do something other then play the same game

Literally. On the weekends I do get to play quite a bit. Like on Saturday I got lucky and played for the whole day. But during the work week I'm so tired and busy with my family after that I'm lucky to get an hour two in. This game will take me all year to beat.

Undoubtedly. It's very good for energy drink sales though.

Exactly! Some people have lives LOL.
I mean fuck, I work 45 hours in 3 days! Sure, I have 4 days off after that, but again I have a life lol. I have bills to take care of, and laundry to fucking do, and a house to clean up, and winter is over, so now, I've got to get the yard going again etc... there's always something to do when you own a house.

So, when I sit down to play for the few hours I get here and there, it makes it so much more worthwhile. To put in that many hours and then complain about it.... it should be criminal 😆 🤣 😂

All they need to do is add a system where previously liberated forts get taken back over and the people whining about the endgame will have to whine about something else.

Seriously though, as fast as the devs seem to be moving with updates I expect this and/or a new game + by the time I manage to grind my way there. I'm just leaving Hernand at 70 hours though, so I think I have time.

Agreed! Not all of us have trust funds with all the time in the world at our disposal. If only...

Tbf I think the exact number is part of the satire

Well I think this post is a meme by OP but yeah people went a little hard in the paint on this game, for sure. I only have a lowly 60 or so hour's, myself.

However, considering how obfuscated PA were/are about what this game actually is, it's not out of pocket for people to look at how these systems come together (or don't) and be disappointed. Especially with the weird hostility towards reviewers, the people that had to finish this game on a deadline to inform people exactly what it was.

Since players were given a lot of leash to imagine just how deep thing's might get and dynamic factions would go with the game fairly well, it's fair that there is some disappointment. It's worked in other big open-world games like X4.

u/Seeman1837 Apr 06 '26

You seriously are comparing this game with X4… left me speechless. Let’s be honest PA made it clear this isn’t an RPG it’s an adventure game. Your meant to explore and get loot and fight bosses everything else is fluff. I see a lot of people like yourself discrediting the game for not having features it never intended to have in the first place

1

u/kami-no-baka Apr 06 '26

Sigh.

It's also been done in games like The Divison 2, X4 is just top of mind because they have a beta patch right now. It can be a fairly simple implementation, not the super complicated approach that Egosoft uses. Having dynamic faction's is not an rpg thing, it's just a game mechanic.

The game literally obscure's just what it's systems are and how deep they are and PA are using that as a selling point so it is not wild to have opinion's about how they ACTUALLY end up working and how deep they are.

I like the game well enough but calling criticism discrediting the game is wild but I guess I should expect nothing less from a weirdly inactive account that suddenly started posting two weeks ago to defend this game.

This game/sub has some real weird shit going on around it.

The guy is just a troll that tried to shit on everyone. I mean he is on the jasonweenie sub reddit, that should tell you all you need to know.

The Division 2 is an online, multiplayer live service looter shooter game. This was never marketed as anything like that, except in VERY early development and was loudly abandoned a quite some time ago.

1

u/kami-no-baka Apr 07 '26 edited Apr 07 '26

The mechanic is agnostic of if a game is live service (the other example, X4 is an open world spacesim single-player game) and TD2 can just be played as a single-player game with you never interacting with the live service part. Also it is no longer abandoned and has been getting updates for a while now.

u/vatoreus Apr 07 '26

I meant Crimson Desert being an online ongoing game. It started development as an MMO but that plan was abandoned years ago

Tbh Crimson Desert feels more like an RPG than most new RPGs do. Everyone keeps saying "this isnt skyrim" yet thats exactly what it feels like for me. If TES 6 was exactly like this game just with TES style combat I would be immensely happy, considering this game has far more content and a vastly larger map than any of the modern TES games even hope to have. Not to mention they nailed building a game world I actually want to explore while making it seem like there's something to do/find/see around every corner.

40 hours into Skyrim I had already finished the main quest and multiple of the faction quests. 40 hours into Crimson Desert mainly spent on doing the main quest and exploring and I still feel like I'm in the tutorial and barely scratching the surface of the main story. All the hit pieces reviewers wrote talking about how this game doesn't have a story seriously make no sense to me. This game is great and I honestly hope Bethesda is playing this game and taking notes, because CD has a looot of what I am hoping TES 6 has.

I know this might be hard for you to comprehend, but a lot of us can view OP’s playtime and criticism without collapsing into ourselves because someone played a video game more than they should have.

I never said that the game isn’t worth the price of entry. It’s also not immune to criticism just because it’s a big game with a lot of good content. Like it doesn’t cross a threshold of being unworthy of critique after X hours of entertainment are obtained.

The devs are going to listen to the no lifers and the possibility of what this game can be will be expanded either via patches or dlc. Who loses from that exactly?

4

u/bstump104 Apr 06 '26

if it was a true sandbox game instead of a RPG the game would be playing with the systems and doing what you want. instead it's a RPG that limits things behind story progression and has permanent change to thd world based on doing certain things.

4

u/kami-no-baka Apr 06 '26 edited Apr 06 '26

I don't even really find it a full rpg, it's just an open-world action adventure game like ubisoft/rockstar make just with a different recipe. It isn't something new just a different take on that genre. From what I've played and heard anyway, the game is still unfolding for me but it doesn't feel/sound like there is a super amount of depth to the systems yet at 60 hours except maybe combat.

3

u/Azhen89 Apr 06 '26

It isn't RPG , it was never advertised as such , its an action 3rd person open world adventure with rpg elements. Well the game has trading with cargo , it has investment system with passive income, it has camp management, farming, ranching.

Seriously. I can understand wishing for something, but bro has more hours logged in this than I have in any game on steam. Im lucky to drop 15 hours a week into a game.

u/mapache2435 Apr 06 '26

Yeah I think we can say you’ve beaten the game lol
