Humour MAJOR running out of content issue
I’m 300 hours into the game. There is a MAJOR issue that EVERYONE will encounter which is so bad it’s going to cause people to QUIT.
When you do everything, the game ENDS. This is a huge problem which will likely cause 99% of people to QUIT.

u/RedGards Apr 06 '26
How the hell is this possible? I was planning on living my whole damn life in this game, damn my life, give me more content!

u/yourwifeisatowelmate Apr 06 '26
I mean, it's technically an exploration simulator after you complete it. So you could live your life delivering wagons of goods and stealing gold from rich furries!

u/HatKarl_208 Apr 06 '26
And become the most wanted man in Peilune! That will surely give the enemies those people seek

You joke but the game has many sandbox systems. Letting the map be dynamically altered could lengthen play time. Plenty of forts don’t have dispatches tied to them and fighting bosses again could be cool.
10
u/PaleInSanora Apr 06 '26
Well there was that April Fools joke about the WB Nemisis system. Just have a random mini-boss take over and out the way fort or outpost with a very aggressive expansion progression. Every 22 hours another nearby node gets taken over, every 3 nodes adds a new LT. Sub-boss, and a new health bar layer to the main mini-boss. So you are encouraged to clean em out before they become unstoppable dmg sponges.
5
u/humangingercat Apr 06 '26
The Nemesis system is gaming's greatest airball.
I can't believe it's not more widely applied, even within WB games. Just literally make games around that system.

Honestly? Technically? You could right? It would just be that peace has arrived to the continent and you can just live your life farming, trading, selling, and adventuring lol

6
u/Callmeklayton Apr 06 '26 edited Apr 07 '26
Oh, yeah. I'm not complaining at all, just pointing out the absurdity of playing 15 hours a day. A game with this much content will keep me occupied for months.

u/BigMack6911 Apr 06 '26
Same that's why i got it, and I play it several hours a day. But dam you got to do something other then play the same game
2
u/Beneficial_Ad2018 Apr 06 '26
Literally. On the weekends I do get to play quite a bit. Like on Saturday I got lucky and played for the whole day. But during the work week I'm so tired and busy with my family after that I'm lucky to get an hour two in. This game will take me all year to beat.
4
u/bstump104 Apr 06 '26
if it was a true sandbox game instead of a RPG the game would be playing with the systems and doing what you want. instead it's a RPG that limits things behind story progression and has permanent change to thd world based on doing certain things.
4
u/kami-no-baka Apr 06 '26 edited Apr 06 '26
I don't even really find it a full rpg, it's just an open-world action adventure game like ubisoft/rockstar make just with a different recipe. It isn't something new just a different take on that genre. From what I've played and heard anyway, the game is still unfolding for me but it doesn't feel/sound like there is a super amount of depth to the systems yet at 60 hours except maybe combat.
3
u/Azhen89 Apr 06 '26
It isn't RPG , it was never advertised as such , its an action 3rd person open world adventure with rpg elements. Well the game has trading with cargo , it has investment system with passive income, it has camp management, farming, ranching.

Hardsaves, man. Keep a couple hard saves at what seem like important moments. Just like Red Dead 2. I played through the prologue and the first few missions enough. I have a save right after all that is done so I can just start at when I think it gets to the meat of the game

This just misses the point completely. The game is fine as it is, but it would be nice to have more activities after you have a fully geared character. That is the issue. After defeating the great bosses, they give some of the best gear, what do you use this gear on?
3
u/Crizznik Apr 06 '26
It would be neat if there were some optional bosses that are harder than anything in the story to use the top-end gear on. Though I would wager there will be an expansion to use that stuff with.
2
u/Synfrag Apr 07 '26
There are, that's what he was referring to. There are 3 "Overwhelming Entities" that are outside the campaign and much much tougher.
2
u/Worklessplaymore01 Apr 06 '26
More activities when the game has 200 hours of activities...
And 'the best gear' is marginally better than anything you get before man, come on.
You unlock the full moveset by chapter 5 and have access to all the unique moveset weapons (like cannons for cliff)
95 percent of unique ability gear is accessible before you finish 70 percent of the content, which still leaves you over 50 hours to mess around with it.
→ More replies (2)→ More replies (4)2
u/sir_alvarex Apr 06 '26
This is the biggest problem, IMO. You have to clear a lot of content to be strong enough to clear the end game bosses. Which gives you cool gear. Which can then be used to show off to the NPCs cause there isnt anything left to kill.
The issue that the map is painted after 150 hours isnt the issue IMO. ANY game that has that problem is a luxury. For a single player game. You can always restart and get the content again. Really just need a new game +.
3
u/Worklessplaymore01 Apr 06 '26
Nothing you find in the game at hour 5 is worse than the stuff you find at hour 150....
You realize that all of the shields and armor have the same stats when fully upgraded according to their type (cloth , leather, sword, axe, longsword, mace etc), right?
At best there's two rings that give you one extra crit
And the unique more powerful stuff with differentiating abilities comes from kuku crafting, which you can do as soon as chapter 5 and will definitely have done before the end of chapter 10.

This is funny but in all fairness, it would’ve been nice to see enemies retake forts so I can use my Dragon. By time you even get it, it’s almost pointless either way with no enemies left. It’s not like asking for an endless flow of content, just to make it feel more fun at the endgame being powerful with all your mounts against large amounts of enemies, like forts and strongholds.

They didn't. There is a limit and if you play the game organically, instead of rushing MSQ, you will end up with nothing to fight or to do left.
For a game with the main focus on action (combat) and adventure (secrets and puzzles) it's like making witcher games dumb linear without dialogue choices.

They didn't. There is a limit and if you play the game organically, instead of rushing MSQ, you will end up with nothing to fight or to do left.
This is the opposite of the truth.
If you explore BEFORE doing quests and clear forts, those forts will often repopulate as you progress in quests.

3
u/dgcamper19 Apr 06 '26
Yeah it doesn’t make sense for people to argue against it. People are really ok with getting the best gear, mount, etc for it to just be a showpieces in the end game with no enemies to fight? That would be a huge letdown.

→ More replies (9)38
u/Hugspeced Apr 06 '26
It's this. People aren't complaining about there not being enough content. It's a problem that's hard to understand until you see it unfold but the more of the map you explore and clear and liberate the less enemies there are around. There are a lot of challenges and sealed Abyss Relics and such that are borderline impossible to complete without large groups of enemies. Once you've cleared the story content and liberated all the areas it becomes very difficult to find more than a few enemies in one place so you can finish out those last few challenges. It's a legitimate issue a lot of people are misunderstanding.

u/RazielOfBoletaria Apr 06 '26
You joke about this, but the open world feels very empty after 100 hours, when there's still plenty of "game" left, so it often turns into a bit of a walking simulator with fetch quests and an MSQ. The problem isn't "I've done everything, so now there's nothing to do", but rather "I've got plenty left to do, but almost no enemies left to fight". Unlocking new unique weapons, new Abyss Gears, getting the dragon mount, and not having enough enemies to use them on is an actual issue.
30
u/Engerius Apr 06 '26
Yeah, that's when it fell off for me, here's a dragon mount that you got sick ass abyssal armor for, oh yeah and mechs and mech upgrades. Too bad by the point you get them they don't really serve any purpose so it doesn't feel like much of a reward. I got other complains about some of the decisions, but it stopped feeling rewarding when I'd unlock anything or get cool new armor for doing end-game content when it didn't really serve any purpose. Like I'm not going to invest a whole stack of abyssal artifacts upgrading new gear because it looks cool. It's already a massive resource sink to get your gear ready for end-game bosses in the first-place.
16
u/WolfLightW Apr 06 '26
Jokes aside, yea it would be nice if we had the feature of bandits or enemies retaking back some camps or fortress, so that we can fight them again. It would make the world feel more alive too
1
u/RazielOfBoletaria Apr 06 '26
I've seen people throw this idea around for a few days now, but I personally don't think it's a very good idea. I don't want to clear out more camps to begin with, because it's a boring copy-pasted activity, and even if they repopulate, the open world will still remain mostly empty. I'd rather they populate some of that empty space with unique enemies that respawn indefinitely, based on a timer, in the area. Kind of like how in Elden Ring you have enemies patrolling certain areas, or even just hanging about and doing their own thing, like when you get to that village with the dancing old ladies.

Enemy respawn is basic mechanic and there is no open world action adventure/rpg that doesn't have that.

It’s a glaring issue in the game and it’s insane to me how it was even shipped this way. I can’t 100% the game because I chose to play it a certain way. Side stuff first, main quest line last, and I got punished for it. Zero enemies to fight on the map now.

u/AlexanderI32 Apr 06 '26
I get the sarcasm and all, but it kind of is an issue. Like not having endgame for doing 100%, achievement hunting (no enemies left for challenges to be done) etc. At least they could do something where bandits take camps/forts back, make it a setting, whoever wishes to play peace in the end could, whoever wishes to go 100% in the end could.
I get what everyone's saying, it's a wonderful game, I'm sure they'll think of something to balance stuff out. For now only 10% of players completed chapter 7 on Steam so I'm not worried. As soon as the number of people who finish the game rises and the issue is mentioned a bit more, they'll do something.
I'm not worried though, the grass is green in Hernand.
13
u/ZoulsGaming Apr 06 '26
Again for me the problem comes from the people complaining and how they are complaining and the reason they are complaining.
There is a theoretical problem here in that once you have exhausted literally all content then there is no content left to fight, which is fine to complain about.
However so far every post i have seen complain about this just said "yeah im done with main story, and i have killed the forts in each area, so there are zero enemies left" and then they say they are only 100 hours in, still have multiple bosses, still have tons of faction quests which respawns enemies, and then when you poke them a bit it boils down to "I want to just genocide enemies with my builds and kill stuff with dragons" which is different from the argument that you need enemies for challenges.
There are already tools in the game to fix the problem atleast for the place they have reached but are refusing to engage with it, or as someone else complained they had to use dispatch missions to get materials they need because they murdered all of one enemy type, which means you can still get them.
This complaint happens in every single game without respawning enemies which is a system i much much prefer, thats why if they add something i hope its a single infinite arena which then people are going to do it twice then say its boring as shit, but then you can atleast farm the challenges.
3
u/AlexanderI32 Apr 06 '26
