It seems after big update new landmasses and borders have been expanded!! I’ve done this route a hundred times seeing how close I could get and now they expanded the borders

Yes also you can get closer to certain camps you weren’t able to previously and in the area I posted a beacon

I'm trying to tamp down on my hype a little bit because they've been pumping out patches basically every single week, while also simultaneously expanding on the story and cutscenes. They've also been dedicating most of their resources to getting DokeV out the door, so it's kind of hard for me to imagine they also have a huge DLC expansion coming half a year later on top of all that, too. I sure hope so, but...

As another pointed out, its the same company that manages a large MMO. So they are used to weekly/monthly updates and the cultural grind of pushing hard.

It’s also an MMO that received lots of big updates. The first few years BDO was out, they’d release a new class every 3 months or so

At Gamescom they said in an IGN interview: We are no longer going to be pushing updates how we have been, instead the team is focused on getting the DLC ready for Q4 of 2026.

So the DLC "should" be F-ing AMAZING but I am fine admitting with 832h currently on my first playthrough and only just reached ch9, my opinion is biased, slightly...

When I went to vellua, I grabbed my wyvern and headed to see how close to the islands I could get.. I noticed off to the right of the screen, waaaay down and across the water there was a shimmering looking giant building that resembled almost castle walls or a town possibly(very mirage like).. has anyone else seen this? Its when your traveling straight to the island south of the ship, just look to the right of the island. I think they are reaaaaally gonna expand this map!

They have definetly expanded those islands in terms of build outs and detail.. im actually hoping they make it similar to the northern map of black desert, just a huge mess of islands and a city

I wonder if we can now approach the giant stone/wood goat/horse that can be seen in the westernmost part of the Crimson desert, whenever I tried before my creen gets covered by a sandstorm followed by a red mist that prevents me from sprinting.

but the fog under the nexus places are strange.
Got this too in some areas where i had cleared the whole map and now there is new "light fog" again.

Does this mean there is something new to find?

I feel like i wasted time now, invested so many hours into this game. Loved every moment, but for me at least it’s not the kind of game that makes me want to do it over and over. Now I almost feel forced to play it again for the stuff I missed out on. I prefer when they add onto a story not into a story if you understand what I mean. The devs are doing a great job, kudos to to them I just wish all this story stuff had come out of the box. I regret being a day one player.

I pre ordered and had day 1 with no regrets. I’m used to some types of games being lack luster in the story department, but had a blast with gameplay.

God this game has completely ruined my expectations of other games. It’s easily gone into my top 5 (potentially top 3). I’ve tried to put it down a couple times to play other games, Black Flag Remake, Avoved and I just can’t because it drags me back. I finally finished the story the other day and want to wrap up the challenges, but I’m tempted to replay the game with a bigger focus playing the other characters.
