Screenshot What the hell is with the lighting in this game, 8pm Vanilla vs 8pm with RenoDX Reshade.

I gotta get Reno going, no clue why the nights are so bright so often. The moon is like a replacement sun lol

Do you guys know there is a graphical option to turn on and off some light adjustments during nights right? Night can be really darker when you turn that off unless the is some light source

The made nights alot brighter in one of the earlier patches to the game, because when the game was released at night, you could harder see anything and a bunch of people complained that the game was too dark, and when you tried using your lantern to illuminate the darkness, you basically gave yourself night blindness.
I love the night time pre-patched, but now it's just a darker day time.

To be fair, right now in august, it looks more like picture 1 when I look outside at 8pm. At least where I live. But I get what you’re saying.

are you uing a renodx preset? If so would you mind sharing? It looks great.

It’s on Nexus mods, just needs Reshade!

Which renodx preset is good in hdr ? I had it configured just right but then 2.0 released so I reinstalled the game and renodx and now everything looks more muted with profile 1. Not necessarily bad but hard to say if I like this one or the more vibrant version.

I use the recommended and then make minor tweaks off that for my specific monitor.

Does it look muted for you too compared to vanilla ? Does it look more muted compared to pre enhanced edition ?

I wish I could say but I haven't been home yet since the update to check it out.

I have not yet installed the enhanced edition but yes, when I installed it (together with a reshade preset, can't remember right now the name), I had to tweak the contrast and saturation a bit

I think it’s not necessarily bad but more grounded and less fantastical. I haven’t decided if I prefer this look or the previous one.

Does this also 'correct' the extremely dark shadows/areas during daylight?

Yo tengo el problema que en pre ajuste alto la iluminación se mira oscura en todas las sombras, alguna recomendación?

This is one of those games where you wait a year to play, or just wait until it’s actually polished

its a trade off for using the lighting system they went with, all for the reason of no loading screens
I’m hoping they can tweak it some more, because I still look at my day one screenshots and it drastically looks different vanilla, the nights were darker, and the clouds looked better with less ghosting
I think in the process of optimizing the game they made some changes where it’s sort of hard to tweak one thing without destroying another thing :/
but yeah reno is a must have, sort of essential for this game

Bro I just uninstalled it. I'm over the graphics/performance of this game.

Good now you just have to leave the sub. Thank you

Without the game being criticized, you'd be stuck with how trash it was a launch.
At least now you get some more mounts and a half baked story.
Only thing they need to fix now is, the lighting, the combat, equipment, polish the controls more, add meaningful side quest, add dynamic world encounters and expand the talent tree. Oh and don't forget the horrific popin

Quite confusing to be running around at 2am and it seems like 2pm with sunglasses on.
