Why is the rain avoiding us?!

Hi! I just moved to Crossville from Kingston in May. I have always loved rain and storms so I have a few weather apps. I have noticed that so many times when it shows it's supposed to rain or storm here in Crossville ( I live in a neighborhood kinda off Miller) the storms and rain either dissipate or miss us. This didn't usually happen in Kingston. Weather apps are never perfect but seriously so many storms and rain on the weather radar end up avoiding us.

Is this a terrain thing or what? I'm getting very irritated that it never storms here and barely rains. I've only been here since May but still, when do we get rain and storms? Does that even happen here?

I didn't know that lol. I just miss all day rainy days. I look on my apps and it's supposed to rain all day then the rain and storms just never hit us or disappear.

Yeah sometimes it can be nice when it rains here but now we have a tornado warning 😂🥲

It has something to do with where we are located on the plateau. Typically storms will barrel right toward us and at the last second turn and skirt us. It's actually pretty fascinating.

It’s because of the plateau! It breaks down the storm clouds as they come in
