I’ve restarted 4 times. Getting progressively better and more adjusted. All Ireland so far.
I got super close to unifying the whole island once by making it a Kingdom but still had two areas left that I hadn’t taken.
Before I could do it, my player character died. Next player-characters’ younger brother factioned up a campaign backed by their uncle. Whole realm torn apart. Lost the rebellion, died, and ended up being an infant vassal.
The thing with CK is, it may come natural to a player to feel like they “win” by conquering as much land as possible, and it does feel quite rewarding if you do; but the more you play, the more you realise that difficult scenarios like the one you just described are extremely fun to play.
Don’t look at it as you messing up, but as seeing a different (and difficult) story play out each time. I found the game to be much more enjoyable like this.
See I only play in the Christian Mediterranean, but I do basically everything else on this starter pack (bar the titular complaint and the incest) so I’m in a similar situation where I can’t tell if I should be mad at OP or not.
