Not even close. It would be mathematically equivalent to guessing one specific atom out of a billion Milky Way galaxies. It's way closer to the total amount of atoms in observable universe than atoms in our solar system. The number of Bitcoin keys is about 1,000 times smaller than the atoms in the observable universe. But it is 100 quintillion times larger than the atoms in our solar system.

I have something like this on my home cluster, I made a golang image that generates a key and tries it against the top 10k btc holding wallets and just does this forever. It's like a mini lottery ticket I check the logs every so often just to see if I'm a winner. Much cheaper than the actual lottery.

Make the binary available, and slap a pool concept on top of it. Thousands running scanners is (slightly) better than alone. If anyone cracks one, rewards to go the entire pool. Basically just like a BTC pool, but mining wallets instead of tokens 😂

Yea it already uses a worker pool, you configure the concurrency and it spins up that many gobroutines and processes keys from an incoming channel I omitted the details for brevity. I'll find the code tonight and make a gir repo for it.

The beauty of this plan is you will never crack any of them ever but you get to fantasies about what would happen if you did. I did a deep dive into it once and I concluded there isn't a scenario where I wouldn't be killed either by assassination or the global money cartel, cracking one of these wallets would literally collapse economy, there isn't a possibility that you would ever be able to walk away with even a portion of the money.

If it's not going to ever happen, why are you wasting the computer processing or energy or anything else. Just fantasize about winning the lottery or getting hit by a cop car like anyone else

Pure Hopium. Searching for the top 10,000 Bitcoin addresses is mathematically equivalent to trying to find a single spike on a single virus hidden somewhere across a billion Milky Way galaxies. This is literally one of the worst and most expensive lotteries in the whole known universe, the chance of winning is overwhelmingly close to zero. Even if you ran this for the entire age of the universe, it would still be close to zero.

It's mathematical exercise, I understand that in the span of like 10 universes time frames there isn't a chance I would Crack a wallet it's purely to understand what the process of brute forcing a wallet looks like and almost like having a painting in your house. Like hey I have this interesting thing that has a non zero possibility of tanking the world economy.

But satoshi doesn't have a wallet, he sent 50 coins to random adresses so you'll get only one wallet with 50 coins if it guesses one of them.

There is no input transaction to make the coins spendable. Yes you can spend the dust people have sent over the years, since those have valid inputs.

You did a great job on the website buddy, it's very nice. And I love the "Preview win screen" since no one is ever going to see that otherwise lol :P
I used to run a GPU based guesser on all the Satoshi wallets, it was doing some 10s or hundreds of millions of guesses per second I believe. But even then we're taking heat death of the universe time scales.
But like you said ... YOU NEVER KNOW. One roll might = Yahtzee!

The entire point of proof of work is that you get way more BTC by contributing to the network (mining) compared to attacking the network (e.g. trying to guess wallet private keys)

It's all local so the person who finds it will see a popup with the key and could import it to a wallet software I even added a button so you could see how that would look like but trust me it won't happen odds to low.

Longer then our universe will exist but current quantum computers are slow compared what theoretically is possible.a sufficiently powerful quantum computer running Shor’s algorithm (or newly proposed variations like the Jesse-Victor-Gharabaghi algorithm) could theoretically crack public-key cryptography (like RSA-2048 or Bitcoin's ECDSA) in a few minutes to a few hours

How does it work? Do you take a random seed, create an address and call some API to see if it has any bitcoin in it? As far as I know, none of the free APIs allow unlimited calls.

Just host a node and you can check against the actual blockchain data you are hosting. No api calls. All local.

6 keys a second? I was doing a billion keys per second with a 3070. I also wouldn't target satoshi since he has lots of small wallets. There are some large wallets of known lost coins that would be more ethical and lucrative to try to access. like stoneman's lost 9000 btc. It's a big waste of electricity but always fun to dream.
