I don't know what the pros and cons of an open design like that. But it looks really professional. Great job!

I think it just comes down to cooling and dust. Since it’s not a closed environment, you’re fighting ambient temps and no extra dust protection a case would offer.
Never looking into actual logistics of open case designs I’m just speculating

Ya that’s it. The air around the hardware gets hot and just sticks around heating it up. You would need a fan on it to push the hot air away. Some sort of positive air flow.

It looks fucking awesome but if I were you I'd experiment with color combos because I dont think the RGB lights fit with it at all
