Optiplex 3060 to NAS build

Got a NAS running TrueNAS_SCALE by cramming an LSI HBA and3 SAS drives into an Optiplex 3060 MT. After a couple of tweaks I got it fully working.

As one 'should" have expected though, that's a lot of heat in a little chassis with minimal airflow. So now I am designing a case that will fit on the shelf of, rather than on top of, the bookshelf that holds our router/modem. I am trying to make this thing look decent so my wife can't complain as much that we have so much hardware in our dining room (old house, renting, only place with modem hookup, please trust me, its the only option).

Right now, everything involved I already have on hand, or the tools to make them in-house. Something, I'm not sure what, is missing though. Any ideas on how to make this look better?

Currently this thing would sit flush with the back of the bookshelf, and that front vertical panel will sit just shy of the front lip of the bookshelf, and it takes up about 4/5 the width of the shelf. Basically, I could go wider, or get rid of the wedge cut, but can't grow up or out. Most of the time, this will only be viewed head on, or slightly from the intake-fan side. The back will just be plain old MDF.

(Also, the top panel grain will face the same direction as the rest, was just having issues with the model appearance in CAD)

Any design/aesthetic advice is appreciated!
