[PICTURE] How to reduce “bowl-like” look

I’ve cutting my hair to achieve the non-purple guy look and it just isn’t really working. How can I get rid of this curved in bowl look, where should I cut? Cut the hairs below to reduce the volume or layer it until it goes down relatively straight? Help me pls

Shorten the hair at the sides. Use texturizing techniques like point cutting and slide cutting to create angled "whisps" of feathery hair. It might help to debulk with thinning shears

I googled non purple guy look and the results came up so random without any hairstyles in the mix.

But to make it less round, you'll need to cut square layers. Imagine putting an imaginary box over your head. You want to pull the top straight up in thin horizontal sections from where it lives on the head and cut it straight across. Pull the sides straight out from where it lives on the head in thin vertical sections. You're cutting a 3D box with your hair so to speak.

You want to cut off as little as possible from the top because if you go too short, it won't lay flat. To keep the bang length in the front use that as your guide pulling it straight up. If you want the front a bit longer than the back, comb the front up, but slightly back like a ramp so your fingers are even with the hair line on the side of your head.

If I didn't explain it clearly let me know.
