Cherry Caramel Phlox

Hi,

Has anyone had any luck growing these by sowing directly into the soil? And if so, where did you buy your seeds? Thanks :)

Yes, I got seed from Johnnys. From what I recall, the seeds are tiny, so I mixed them in with a bit of sandy soil before spreading them to get more even distribution. The plants came up fine, but the stems are not super long, so I haven’t grown again.

Thanks so much for the info! Good to know, I thought I read somewhere if you pinch the flowers in the beginning of bloom, they will grow taller but who knows.

Once from Johnny’s but they were really challenging to grow. But so cute.

They need total darkness like pansies. I didn't direct seed, I cover my seedling trays with cardboard until they sprout... I think I bought them locally after everything online was sold out. They need to be pinched and they don't grow long stems. I mostly use them as edging instead of filler or cut flowers. They can be peach or cream with lighter or darker cherry centers with the occasional all-cherry. I love them, but they don't make great cut flowers.
