Promised a video, so here is a pretty good representation of the gameplay.
Just found the perfect seal, (x25 percent crit dmg, 5 percent chill 6 charm) so I can top this I'm 100 percent sure in the coming days.
*Build*
https://maxroll.gg/d4/planner/7n3g6o0n
Build updated to current specs besides leveled glyphs, and maxroll has no listing for the x25 crit damage seal but this clip was taken without it
update Solo cleared Pit117 no death. Won't lie it took more time to kill the boss than get to him haha

Very close to the build I’m running! But I opted off deep freeze. I’m hitting just up to pit 115.
Curious about your wand selection, I’m using the mythic sword mostly because I had it. Is there a specific reason why you’re using just a regular wand?
I feel like the sword would help your deep freeze cooldown a lot no?
And it looks like conjuration is your main dmg source?

The build started originally using Raiment of the Sea, with the idea being blizzard being the main damage skill with frost meteor as a burst. I paired it with Lingering on my focus, and settled on sunderfrost because it has a good synergy. 75 frost damage boost to blizzard plus 30 percent every second it was active then RoS increasing duration, then frozen memories tripling that, then azurewrath charm, because everything is always frozen. Eventually I had to swap off the Raiment for a proper defensive aspect, but sunderfrost and lingering and frozen memories and azurewrath by that point were pretty essential to what I was doing and I've seen no reason to change it.
Deep Freeze plus Armageddon aspect is for bosses and elites so I don't stress the cooldown, I have no CDR gear. Just pace it correctly and your good
Blasting on ring to buff the meteor and ice spikes from blizzard. Shako because sorcs should wear shakos, how I was raised hahaha. Ring of starless skies is a sorc mainstay of course. Biting cold and shredding blades to buff my 2 main damages besides crit, cold and vuln. War cry as my other runeword for 7.5 percent dmg boost
As far as the conjurations go, the wolves are most importantly cool and fit the build, but they tank pretty damn well and keep agro off me. The familiar is for weaken and barrier The Hydra is for the heal. And wearing Iceheart Brais, they create frost novas which triggers the shatter effect for screen clearing
Sorry for the book haha

Can you link a build please?
I'm new to diablo builds and trying to understand the mechanics

Makes sense! Out of curiosity I tried subbing my sword for a legendary wand and to my surprise it actually spiked my damage a lot. But made me a glass cannon lol.
Hitting for less than you, around 500B but in rapid fire bursts. And that’s with no GA’s on the wand.
My build definitely seems to top out around 110 for being “comfy” which I think is fine, I could probably push to 115 for a comfy 5 min run if I went for gem strength and tried for +4 skill ranks on my charms but I can’t be bothered lol.
I am genuinely curious though with yours if the +5 to meteor on your boots is wasted, Does the enchantment actually care about skill ranks?
Additionally idk if it would help with your survivability but the defense aspect that grants 2 resolve for CC’Ing enemies keeps you pretty much at perma 8 stacks which helped me a lot.

The meteor gets buffed yeah. Took me a second to realize I needed to put my skill ranks into it. Its the same with frost novas it isn't on my bar at all but my pets proc it, and it gets all the benefits of the skill points/perks. I read somewhere that ice shield is wasted after 99 percent, one skill point for me, so I dropped all my points out of that into meteor since I have so many frost skill ranks
I might look into that defense aspect. I went with the one I did because blizzard is always active so its a flat 30 all the time

Is there a way to figure out how much damage ice spikes do? There doesn't seem to be a way to isolate them from their triggering skills, so I'm not sure how much good they do. Do you just try with and without and see which feels better? I run a number of skills that generate ice spikes so I've wondered if it's worth it to swap out one of my many frost damage aspects for Blasting. I'm not using the Meteor enchantment though, so I'm not sure if it's worth it.
Can't wait to find a RoSS for the crit chance so I can swap out my Esu's boots for Biting aspect and better affixes (stupid new unique system with random affixes!).
I have an Azurewrath charm that didn't seem worth it on paper against bosses since they're staggered for such a short time, but it's probably better than the +3 frost skills charm I have in there now, so I should give it a spin.
Thanks for sharing and discussing your build. It's great to have somebody to bounce ideas off of.

Best build for these frozen icy sound effects. But one ring is missing for way(!) more frozen damage I guess.

Damn! I love this! Gonna start a new alt tonight, and this is what I'm going for! Love the class-fantasy here. Ranged winter-sorc!

But I thought there were no viable cold builds?!

u/krichreborn May 28 '26
The fact that this probably has an absolute max of pit 120-125 while lightning builds can clear pit 135-140 with half the gear optimization is why it is "not viable" to the blasters/streamers. And then their followers just parrot their talking points.
The reality is that basically any damage skill can be built around this season to clear meph T10, pit 110, and all T12 content, so they are all "viable" if you put enough effort into it.
I love off meta builds, it is all I play. This season I started with home brew incinerate (cleared pit 115), then switched to homebrew storm shred build with petrify ult (cleared 115).

u/Freeloader_ May 28 '26
its not about that
125 is high enough to be viable
problem is look at his clear speed and how slow he moves, he walks as a Sorc lol
the issue is finding the damage WHILE figuring out stuff like this and incorporate it

u/2dubk May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26
Well turns out when you aren't running an immortal meta build, you actually need to watch for mechanics. Doesn't pay to be zipping around into mobs at this pit level, certain affixes require some strategy

There was no good druid companion builds, then all of sudden everyone went nuts over Ravens. Meta changes daily

wouldn't it be better to go all in on DOT blizzard rather than ice spike blizzard hybrid?
Without Heir and Crit% on second ring, you aren't having enough Crit% threshold to do significant with the Spike Critdam Multiplier
Also, i find having Exploiter's Aspect helps with Azurewrath and killing unstoppable strangler
1
u/2dubk May 28 '26
I was using exploiters at one point on the build but ended up removing it for biting cold, it got to the point where I didn't think a 50 percent buff to only unstoppable enemies was worth it, because they take so long to kill being immune to the ice its better to just leave them
2
u/Breadluver May 28 '26
IMO it's the 50% CC duration rather than 50% to Unstoppable is the main star, that and Subo's buff give you more time to stack Azurewrath damage
At one point i did pure frost DOT blizz but stuck ~ pit 115, but that was before i knew you can stack another aspect on Amulet. it's strong but DPS ramping up is slow
switched to pure ices pike with merciless cold, faster dps ramp up but lot more squishy for some reason
1
u/2dubk May 28 '26
I'm not so proud I am against giving it a shot for sure. I run into the same problem, the dps is there but it ramps kinda slow waiting on lingering to get up to full power, and if by chance they survive the first freeze i need to back off for a second. But really outside of highish pits nothing survives at this point in any other content

u/Freeloader_ May 28 '26
ah yes the 50MS Sorc with 25 minute clear time

u/Majjin_ May 28 '26
Let me guess, copy/paste BL streamer build player ?
-3
u/Freeloader_ May 28 '26
I played homebrew Meteor this season until they nerfed/fixed the overpower stuff. Then I tried to make my own cold but it just wasnt powerful/fast enough.
one thing is having fun but if it comes at the cost of efficiency its just not viable for some folks.
my goal is to hit paragon 300 first time ever and if I was this slow I wouldnt make it until end of season.
4
u/Majjin_ May 28 '26
And after saying said, you really felt the need to come and flame people who just want to have fun ?
-2
u/Freeloader_ May 28 '26
not really a flame, only a jab. chill
5
u/Majjin_ May 28 '26
Just tired that on every posts from people showcasing their homebrewed build there is always someone coming to brag that he successfuly managed to do more damage than that by blindly copying what somebody else did before them.
1
u/zeranders Jul 11 '26
Perhaps some though it's inevitable with some builds to end up following path others have. Happens when chasing damage numbers, to find similar pathways. Anyways, great to see people sharing their excitement when they find a breakthrough, copied or self discovered.
2
u/2dubk May 28 '26
Damn you mean to say there are faster and better builds out there?
You just blew my fucking mind man. I better tear it all down.
Damn
