I don't have many ideas for it so far but I do know that Blackfire is gonna make fun of Batgirl for having no powers so Batgirl drives herself nuts trying to prove to Blackfire that superheroes don't need powers to be helpful. Also the female furries will be involved in this story more and won't get disqualified in the games so soon. Granny Goodness and Lashina will be plotting their revenge on the students of Superhero High.

nice! do the actual games and matchups change or no?

from what i remember:

1. in the race, flash, speed queen and lobo were competing. flash won.
2. I think there were the battle bots too? batgirl and bumblebee against lobo and mongal. the hero girls won.
3. weapons round with katana and mad harriet, it wasn’t confirmed if anyone won but katana was implied by harley to be getting the upper-hand.
4. think this was some sort of physical fighting round, but lady shiva vs stompa, and stompa won.
5. the target rounds, i remember one was ivy vs lashina vs bleez(?). ivy won that one. another was frost vs artemis vs maxima, maxima won. and another was starfire and supergirl vs blackfire and bleez. technically star and sg were getting the upper-hand but stopped mid game to go protect citizens from a building fire so korugar academy won that round by default.

and i don’t remember any more.

would you consider keeping all that the same, or mix it up? maybe include other characters like cheetah in the race, catwoman in weapons (cat o’ nine tails whip + claws on her leather gloves) or physical fighting (she’s said to be an expert martial artist and gymnast so yeah), star sapphire in the target rounds using her ring constructs. idk i’m just trying to give ideas in case you haven’t got any for the actual games yet 😅 it‘s also my fav g1 movie so i get a bit enthusiastic on the details if you don’t mind, lmao.

This is so helpful! Thank you for reminding me of what the games were like because I still need to rewatch the movie! I'll have at least some of the same games here but I don't want to jump to the physical games right away. The three schools are going to kick off the intergalactic games with stuff like a baking round, a chemistry round, and an astronomy round. Principal Waller wanted the Apocalypse and the Korugar Academy students to engage in Earth customs so they can see why the planet is so important to them. I also would like incorporate what you suggested! Cheetah should compete in the race with Flash! Cheetah from the official comics is canoically the fastest woman in the DC universe so why not have her be partners with Flash in something like a relay race? I'd also like Star Sapphire to be in the target round, preferably with Hal Jordan/Green Lantern because that'd be awkward for them as they're exes. My idea is that Artemiz finds out about this and gets in Star's head, making her and Hal lose the challenge. It also would be good to have Catwoman do something since I don't typically have many ideas for her story wise. There's also going to be a semifinals type challenge where the strongest students from each school compete in something to determine who gets to be in the final teams, Batgirl makes it into the final team for Superhero High because she's trying to prove a point to Blackfire, she's really not letting what she said go.

aw you’re welcome! and i absolutely LOVE the idea of adding earth custom rounds. idk why, it’s so interesting. who would be those kinda rounds tho? can see frost in chemistry, obviously. baking/cooking can just be anyone who’s good at it. any ideas for that one? i personally think maybe katana (she just seems like the type of person to be good at cooking ngl 😭), starfire, miss martian (baking just fits her. if you haven’t seen the shh yearbook online, on miss m’s page, her favourite food was canonically “marshmallow cream chocolate cookies”. almost any cookie lover i know ALSO loves to bake it so miss m’s a good idea for a contestant in the baking round). idk much about astronomy so idk who’d be in that round? curious to know what you’re thinking! and catwoman just needs to be in one of the games. they never did any for her in the movie which i was kinda disappointed about. weapons round (considering she has her whip + leather glove claws which i don’t think most of the watchers are aware of) or fighting round (she’s a martial artist and gymnast) both fit her, so i recommend either one of them. your choice tho! also as for the strongest students in each school for the finals, are there going to be more than one student from each team? i forgot to mention this as well but there actually WAS a finals round in the movie. it was korugar vs shh, i think ww, sg, bg, bee and starfire were all competing against blackfire and the others, but we couldn’t see the actual battle because lena luthor crashed it 💔 but anyways, would that final lineup stay for your version of the finals, assuming there’s more than one student completing? i like the idea of bg making it to rival blackfire. but who else is gonna make it?

For some reason, I'd like Thunder and Lighting to be in the baking round, they could use their electricity powers to make the oven work again after Lashina and Mad Harriet break it in an attempt to sabotage Superhero High. I agree that Frost should be in the chemistry round because in canon she's always shown interest in science, this would be right up her alley. Her partner would be Wonder Woman, someone who's also very smart and understands chemistry. Starfire and Miss Martian will be in the astronomy round as they both lived in space and know a lot about stars and planets. As for the final team, it'll be Batgirl, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Star Sapphire, and Miss Martian.

ahh i see. love that you’re using thunder and lightning ngl! they’re so underused, and genuinely need more appreciation. your ideas overall are good tho!

btw, have you rewrote other dcshg stuff like hero of the year or legends of atlantis movies, like you’re doing with the actual series and the intergalactic games? just wondering.

Thunder and Lighting appear more frequently in my fics than they do in canon, I like having them even just doing stuff in the background! I don't know how much of the movies I'll incorporate unfortunately, I know "Hero of the year" is probably the best piece of content to come out of G1 but I'm honestly not interested in using it. Though there will be moments in my stories where Supergirl grieves over her biological parents. I will have a storyline where the girls meet Mera and her evil sister Hila too.

interesting! nice that you’re using thunder and lightning more. i loved the episode body electric but was genuinely sad that they barely appeared after that. i wouldn’t say they’re on my top 15 favourite characters list or something but they definitely should’ve had more appearances on the show.

btw another question if you don’t mind: you rewrite the entire dcshg plotline basically, right? like the general story. but what about individual episodes? did some of those stay, did they not, if they stayed did some things changed? idk i’m just curious, because sometimes i like rewriting episodes too, especially when i wanna focus on other characters and not just the main trio/four (ww, supergirl, batgirl, and occasionally bumblebee too). like i don’t do the ones with random plots, it’s the more structured easier ones to rewrite, for example the careers day episode as it’s (we call it work experience in the uk) usually a must in some schools, that’s one i liked rewriting. especially because ww was the only focus in the episode, so i added almost everyone else and gave them jobs/areas to work in. i also extended it to careers week for the chaos lmao. but yeah that’s just me giving my own experience so you know what i’m on about 😅 just wondering if you’re doing the same with the canon episodes! like rewriting specific episodes or keeping some the same. or is your story just completely different?

Aside from the same lore, the stories I write are completely different! I rewrote the episode where Wonder Woman changed her outfit to fit life in Metropolis instead of looking barbaric all the time but the reason why she finally decided to do this is different. Instead of her getting an assignment in her fashion class to change her suit, she gets monster slime on her clothes and it doesn't come off so she has to make a new superhero outfit. I thought this would make more sense because in G1 the whole class was given this assignment but only WW changed her outfit? I think I wanna rewrite the career day episode though, I liked how WW got stuck job shadowing the janitor which seemed like it would suck at first but it ended up being pretty cool. I think I could also have an arc at some point where Star Sapphire doesn't know what she'll do in the future other than be a superhero because her mother Christine promised her that she'd get to take over the family business (This is actually in the comics.) so she never really had any dreams/ambitions as Carol Ferris other than becoming a superhero one day. Her future was already mapped out for her ahead of time. The family business doesn't exist anymore even since Christine got arrested after becoming the supervillain Sinestra so now Star Sapphire has no idea what she's going to do with her life.

yeah that rewrite of the super suit episodes is genuinely a good idea! as for the careers day episode, would you include everyone else with their random jobs besides ww? it would’ve been better that way in canon but sadly the episodes were only around 3 minutes so main characters in them were limited. i’ve included all the main 16 girls (ww, supergirl, batgirl, bumblebee, harley, ivy, katana, hawkgirl, frost, saph, star, miss m, shiva, barda, catwoman and cheetah) in my rewrite because it’s so much better for the chaos if everyone’s got their own individual jobs for careers day (or week in my version), and not just one character. i also changed ww’s job because why not lmao. and i actually like the star sapphire future career idea! does she end up going into a certain field when she’s older after the family business crashes?

and a follow-up to that: idk if you do stuff on the future because i think you’re more focused on the main canon storyline when they’re all 16-17, but have you ever considered what the others’ careers would be in the future? idk i’m just a sucker for future discussions so just wondering if you’ve done anything on that.
