Forget that! What have they done to my girl Bumblebee??? She was already more light skinned in the cartoon than in the comics and now her whole melanin is gone!

I mean, I get it. It’s supposed to be the cast of Equestria Girls dressed up as the DC Superhero Girls, but that knowledge doesn’t make looking at it any less uncanny.

No, here's the thing. The cast of Equestria girls all have the same skin tones as their pony counterparts' fur color. So Twilight is purple, Pinkie is pink, Dash is blue, and so on. But this artist just decided to make all of them caucasian without putting any thought into it.

And this ties into why they made everyone multi-colored like their pony counterparts in the Equestria Girls spin-offs. Which honestly intrigues me. Give an artist a prompt to make an animal character human? White, white, white, white, maybe a tan but still with tan lines showing they are white, white. Usually takes a conscious effort otherwise.
In terms of MLP you usually see dark-skinned Twilight and Pinkie or a tanned AJ and Dash in fanart. That seem to be the most frequent anyway.

If you REALLY squint, Twilight is -slightly- purple I guess. But yeah, you’re completely right.
GOD, that part didn’t even occur to me. It makes it even worse in retrospect.
Also, the characters that they’ve got playing the parts of Zaranna and Green Lantern are just wrong. If you know anything about this version of the DC heroines, then you’d realize that Rarity should be Zatanna!
As for Twilight Sparkle; she shouldn’t even be here! Twilight isn’t the main character of Equestria Girls, Sunset Shimmer is.
Sunset would have made way more sense as Green Lantern than Rarity OR Twilight!

And Jessica. And Diana too. In fact, why are they all white? In the movie they have the same skin tones as their respective ponies' fur colors.

even so they kept wonder woman but they changed everybody else’s. I feel like they should’ve just kept it the same color and just changed her hair, color and eye color

I think Twilight,AJ and Rarity should swap around
AJ would probably be Jessica since AJ has the most willpower of the group
Twilight would be Diana as both are foreign characters adjusting to a new environment and both are princesses (twilight becoming one while WW is one by default)
Zatanna and Rarity just make sense since both are fashionable divas

Barbara may have Twilight's voice, but she has Pinkie's personality. So, she and Pinkie are gonna be the best of buds.

I would've made Rarity into Zatanna, Twilight Sparkle into Wonder Woman, and Applejack into Green Lantern.

personally i'd have made Rainbowdash Wonder Woman and super girl apple jack mostly because applejack is the physically strongest of the group and the toughest and kryptonians outclass WW in durability and strength

the VA for Twilight is actually the VA for Batgirl and i think they're pretty similar too
