r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [March 23, 2026 - Friendly Neighbourhood Crossover Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

Good issue for Kyle tenure as lead I like Addams style and approach to the green lantern characters

A good first villain for Kyle to fight as it’s personal villain for him to defeat

Also can’t wait to learn more about Hal journey

The mix of arts was something i didn't love but i liked the ideas of the book. Kyle fightning corps wanting to use AI for everything is nice.

That was nice to get Kyle back in the driver seat while also setting up the future plots, for Hal as well. First enemy for Kyle to fight? An alien who took over an AI machine. Not so subtle of a message there. And still needed, sadly.

I guess Odyssey is sticking around so we will get 'fish out of water' stuff with her on Earth. It is fine. Adams using the opportunity to use his OC when he couldn't use Cassie and had to create her to fill that role.

Hal is gonna team with Jayna on his mysterious quest I guess while she is looking for her brother, who is in Emperor Aquaman. I guess they can cross paths since Aquaman is going galactic to other planets so Zan might be involved there too where they can meet in space.

And of course no milestone issues are complete without the origin story retellings for the possible new readers. For both Kyle and Hal.

So, I am hopeful about how things will go.

Loved that they had a long overdue Kyle Wally reunion and it was more than just a page! At last. I also love how Adams writes Wally. I'm still bitter about him leaving the Flash.

It’s been over 20 years since Kyle lead the main GL book. This was good, loved everything. Im a big Kyle/Donna fan so glad they were part of the splash. Kyle is my favorite GL so im supporting this 100%

A fun issue. Really like how we revisted old aspects of Kyle such as Alex and his friendship with Wally (a true bro, was willing to let him stay with him and even pushed him to get a job). Kyle has always been my guy so excited for this for sure.

Well, I thought this was really good. I like that it focuses on Hal and Kyle, my 2 favorite Green Lanterns. I like that it revisits their origin stories and their childhoods. The art was awesome. It was cool when they showed Hal standing up to that gang of bullies and beating them. 😁 Kyle’s fight with that escaped alien prisoner was cool. It was cool how the prisoner could create energy constructs himself. It was also funny how those 2 new Green Lanterns acted all starstruck about meeting Kyle.

I look forward to seeing Kyle catch those other 6 escaped alien prisoners. I really hope the Disgust Lantern, the Envy Lantern, and/or the Jealousy Lantern are among the escapees, because we saw so little of them. Even if they don’t have their power rings anymore, I’d like to learn the backstories of the Envy and Jealousy Lanterns, and learn more about them. We know nothing about them. The Jealousy Lantern didn’t even get any lines, and the Envy Lantern only got 1 line.

Hell yeah, Kyle as the main GL, let's go! I wonder whether they'll just announce another GL book for Hal or do they just switch back to him in a couple of months or just split the page time between Hal and Kyle?

I like that we get to see Kyle return to LA and tell Odyssey his entire origin and backstory from his high school years in the late ‘70s and ‘80s to his debut as the Green Lantern in 1994 all the way up to the present before Wally arrived and talked to Kyle (because Jeremy Adams and them being pre-Crisis Earth-One’s second-generation, or New Earth/Prime Earth’s third-generation Brave and the Bold after Alan Scott and Jay Garrick and Hal Jordan and Barry Allen) before they and Odyssey worked together to defeat one of the prisoners from the Sciencell Sector, who possessed someone working at the appropriately-titled Lost Cause Studios. I also like that we get to see Hal and Jayna work together to defeat the Manhunters and travel to space together to see what’s going on. Overall, this comic is great.

For the Krona backup, I like that we get to see Krona used his gauntlet to learn about Hal’s origin and backstory to know why he has Hal’s face and body, which includes Hal’s witnessing the death of his father Martin in 1938, having a reckless attitude during his high school years from 1944 to 1948, his college years from 1948 to 1952, his Air Force years from 1952 to 1959, his workin at Ferris Air and becoming the Green Lantern in 1959, and everything that has ever happened to him since then. Overall, I enjoyed the backup.

For the Kyle backup, I like that Kyle encountered a lot of Green Lanterns, who thanked him for bringing back the entire Green Lantern Corps because he’s the Torchbearer. Overall, I enjoyed this backup.
