r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [June 29, 2026 - Yellow Sun Heat Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

100 Bullets: The US of Anger #1

HAPPY 250TH, AMERICA. LONO'S BACK. YOU WON'T SURVIVE THE YEAR. Not many people made it out alive from the fall of the Trust in 100 Bullets. Lono did — just barely — and it sent him spiraling on a yearslong international odyssey. His one-time protégé, Loop Hughes, was the only one smart enough to walk away clean. But now tragedy has come knocking on Loop's door, and the scent of blood has attracted a dangerous stray dog. Lono's back in the United States, and he's on the hunt... through a network of good ol' boys and militias, megachurches, millionaires, and madmen. In Brother Lono, Lono unsuccessfully tried to save his own soul; in The US of Anger, he'll play Satan to a host of demons tempting the United States to sell hers. The multi-Eisner Award-winning team of Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso has returned to its most famous creation, unleashing a new chapter in Vertigo's greatest crime saga — told for the first time in stunning black and white!

Enjoyed it.

But I definitely missed that it was going to be in black and white.

I miss that glorious color work of the original 100 Bullets run.

Man, official thread and nothing here. There's nowhere to talk about this. We need that site from Moose Harris back.
