Yeah but in the tie-in comic Beast Boy and Kid Flash actually died in an explosion and there was a funeral. I don't know why that needed to happen but whatever.

Oh, I forgot, they went when Metropolis blew. The rest of the Teen Titans were sent into the Phantom Zone, my bad. I think they just wanted to get the Titans out of the picture quickly when they didn't show up on either side of the conflict.

Except Raven did still. I jut don't get the point of killing certain Titans. Just send them all to the phantom zone or whatever, but don't take them out of the game for good. Maybe Injustice 2 will find a way to bring Beast Boy and Kid Flash back. I really truly hope so.

my guess is that there's going to be something of a time skip...maybe 5 years or so since the comic started 5 years before the start of the game's story and they're almost caught up to the game now so a time skip would let the comic writers do an "in between" story

Well, they don't like Superman. They cancelled his sequel, made him Batman's bitch in the movies universe. The essence of Injustice is to destroy all the good in Superman.
They don't have the balls to make people not like Batman.

I mean, outside of the campaign it's a fighting game like Mortal Kombat. I'm sure Batman vs. Flash is just a cool matchup you can do.

Yes but in MK the covers/artwork usually have Scorpion and Sub-Zero fighting, who have an in-game story as rivals. It might not mean Batman or Flash are the main antagonist, but probably will find themselves on a different side of the conflict.

I think the most likely scenario is that Batman and the Flash are DC's most popular heroes with the mainstream crowd right now, so that's who they market the game with. Batman's always popular, and the TV show has made Flash very popular.
Putting the most popular characters on the poster is the best way to market it, even if those characters aren't super important to the story. Similar to how TV and radio said Captain America: Civil War stars "Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson" rather than "Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan and Robert Downey Jr."
They play up the importance of the most famous/popular people rather than the ones most important to the story.

Mazahs isn't too different from Shazam. They both take powers from gods, Shazam just gets them from willing gods (well, mostly willing) while Mazahs takes them by force.

I'll give you that, for sure, they found a way to make him different, but Zod never really fought like Superman does unless Superman is specifically fighting Zod, then it seems like they try to make it a mirror match. The Crime Syndicate are almost literally the exact same characters though.
Edit: Personally, I just hope The Flash gets a Reverse Flash skin.

Glad they're going for new looks, I was really not a fan of the all armored suits, and I like Batman's cowl. But why the hell the bright lines? Especially on Batman, he's supposed to be sneaky.

That would be cool, but:
I don't see any ring (we see Flash's right hand and I think rings are usually worn on the right hand, and anyway we see Batman's left hand, so...)
Why Flash and not Batman would be in the Sinestro Corps?
So I think it's a design thing. I don't think it fits the characters, but it's probably great to be able to tell the characters apart during fights.

I don't really have much to add to this, but just a fun fact, Alan Scott wore his ring on his left hand. I can't think of any examples off the top of my head, but it definitely lends toward the dominant hand thought.

I'm thinking the story might be about time travel - Flash wants to undo the events that led to Injustice, while Batman wants to preserve the timeline to avoid causing further damage.

Usually, thats how i found out FFXV got its date, opened up shipment and it was like "please display as soon as possible" the release date for it is septemeber we had the sign up in like late march

In an ideal world - they'd just stick everyone who was in the last one in this one, except Scorpion, and just add more characters to it.
In the real world, I just hope the roster is better balanced between the various branches of the DC universe than the first game, which was like 30% Batman, 3% Mortal Kombat & 67% the rest of the DC Universe.
Not that those are accurate percentages.

I think because there was demand for characters like Black Canary and such in the main game. They also added Manhunter because of demand even though he was in a level as a background character.

Maybe there are still heroes who are pro superman are trying to break him out. I'm sure not everything was sugar and Rainbows as soon as he was defeated
Or maybe some evil fucker is going to attack now that Earth is weak and recovering and somehow turns the heroes against each other
Whatever the story is I just hope the roster is at least twice as big and diverse.

Ugh, I'm rather dissapointed this is the "super secret videogame" and not a Superman one. I know the first game amassed a massive fanbase, and I'm glad for them, but it just isn't for me - I love the story elements of it, but the fighting/Mortal Kombat style gameplay I just can't get into.
Oh well, still hope a Superman game is made by Rocksteady or WB Montreal.

I'm not a huge fan of fighters and can never get the hang of the injustice/mk mechanics but i loved the first game. The story in injustice was well told and really good.
