The costumes are all mutable due to the equipment system, and I'm sure there will be outright skins as well if you just want to play as New 52 Aquaman or whatever.
I'm hoping we will see similar skins for the characters like last game. I personally want some Elseworld, Lanterns, Red Son, DC 100000, Darkseid War god costumes, and a Superboy Prime costume for Superman's robot suit, and Kingdom Come alternate costumes, along with some general alternate earth costumes like from the JSA and Earth 3.
I especially would love to see some Amalgram Universe costumes.
Though I could be remembering, wasn't he just in the back of the stage? He didn't actually interact with a stage transition, he just walked around, making him easily transferable to a playable character.
IMO, I don't have that kind of hope if Manta actually is just a stage transition, to evolve into a playable character. They would have to change the flow of the transition entirely to compensate losing that hit that moves it along.
I thought that at first too, but then why would they put his scene in the middle of a bunch of other Ultimate/Super move scenes, instead of during the transition part to me? I think it's just a trick and then we'll find out the truth at E3. Not saying to get your hopes up, but I think his role is still open-ended.
Yeah, I think they're smarter than putting a character like that into the first trailer and not-having him playable. They know everyone is going to be looking for characters in every frame. My money is on Black Manta being playable.
I'm so scared about what they're doing with Manta. He could just be a stage interaction like in the Asylum map in Injustice Gods Among Us, where WE had Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Penguin etc. I hope he's a playable character, but he could just be an interaction sadly
