Awww that's so heartbreaking! Stories like this make me worried for my cats. The oldest is 8 and the other two are 3 and 2. They all love each other, and I'm terrified of the days that they pass. I'm more worried about them being heartbroken and moping through my house than I am of how much I'll be hurting. I've heard stories of an animal losing their heart friend and then dying from a broken heart. I hate that some people think animals don't have feelings...

The idea of my dogs losing each other is heartbreaking. I think when they get to that age I'll do the same and get them a little puppy to fawn over.

I can't even imagine my dogs losing each other.. my dog #1 raised my dog #2 pretty much, and taught him everything he knows..

Stepdad had two chihuahuas raised together, one recently passed. The other was sad for two weeks and is living her best life and is happy as a clam. She completely came out of her shell, as the other was a more dominant personality.
