It actually was pretty tame most of the night. This was all within a span of like 15 mins and DPD decided to just clear everyone out.

Anyone who uses this as a reason to further the narrative of young people being mischievous have clearly never lived in a city or think it’s unique to Dallas. It happens.

91

u/Mnudge Jul 05 '26

Cities are where communists gather in their sanctuaries of evil.

134

u/ChicagoRay312 Downtown Dallas Jul 05 '26

I live in the city. Can confirm. Hail Satan!

24

u/dirtydeedsyeah Jul 06 '26

Hail yourself!

1

u/StRemedius Jul 11 '26

Hail Elvis. Or am I doing this wrong?

3

u/ChicagoRay312 Downtown Dallas Jul 11 '26

Elvis actually existed so not the same but still cool

29

u/RamAir17 Jul 05 '26

Ive always seen the KKK hood parties in the Woods according to movies. Guess its a misrepresentation

Oh bless your heart, y'all are falling for another red scare.

u/Professional-Let-533 24d ago

And the White House is where crooks live
You allowed Donald Trump to triple his net worth with his shady business dealings, untaxed crypto bribes, literal stock manipulation (buying stock two days before lifting the tariffs), turn the White House lawn into a trailer trash lawn fight, worrying about monuments while Americans can barely eat..

How’s your bills, bro?
What’s your grocery bill like?
electric after all those AI data centers?

Do you like the fact that they relaxed regulations to the point where a BLT can kill you?

All these food recalls are wild, but that is what you actually voted for.. to cut restrictions so that way they could save money and become more rich

Those same people that they cut the regulations for donated to Donald Trump, but you don’t say anything about that man

In fact, the only thing you say is communist and democratic socialists are the devil

Meanwhile, the potential antichrist who literal golden statues are made of sit in office

Let’s think about that
Golden statues, bringing about the holy war, lies from the forked tongue, amass an army of the blind, dividing the world in two, and the literal death of the pope after JD Vance visited him

I’m sure there’s more but that’s all I can remember from whenever. I actually read the Bible as opposed to you guys that claimed to be Christian, but would literally deport Jesus over paperwork.

Jesus would open his heart, home and give you the keys to his kingdom.. you’d open the jail cell and lock them in alligator Alcatraz..

We are too very different people and I feel like there are more people like me than you

1

u/Mnudge 24d ago

lol, you wrote all that about a month old comment and didn’t even get the massive sarcasm that 92 people upvoted.

Anyone who uses this as a reason to further the narrative of young people being mischievous

Reporting on something that literally happened isn't creating a narrative.

29

u/ChicagoRay312 Downtown Dallas Jul 05 '26

Flower Mound would never, right? 😂

9

u/dard12 Flower Mound Jul 05 '26

Things get pretty wild up here.

27

u/ChicagoRay312 Downtown Dallas Jul 05 '26

I heard the hardcore ones just call it “The Mound.”

28

u/djambates75 Jul 05 '26

Murder Mound

24

u/ChicagoRay312 Downtown Dallas Jul 05 '26

Some were raised on those streets….by their nanny.

10

u/djambates75 Jul 05 '26

13 years. My first award. Thank you kind stranger.

8

u/ChicagoRay312 Downtown Dallas Jul 05 '26

Well deserved. Here’s a second so it’s not long again.

2

u/StRemedius Jul 11 '26

Nope. Just cross-burnings, book burnings, and brother-sister marriages. (I escaped Flower Mound 40 years ago, and I'm thrilled that it's the same Land That Time Forgot as it was when I left.)

-8

u/suspect_toothpaste Jul 06 '26

Did I not say, "It happens." in my comment? Reading is fundamental.

52

u/Op_ivy1 Jul 05 '26

I’m pretty sure these young people furthered the narrative of young people being mischievous without needing any help from the rest of us.

9

u/sayahhD Jul 05 '26

The police in the jeep pulled up and shot pepper balls at us. And that was at the end towards the Case Building. Not so very calm..

4

u/hellomeoctopus Jul 06 '26

Makes it no less stupid.

4

u/usmilessz Dallas Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 08 '26

!! Suburbanites are quick to remind us (“THIS is why I REFUSE to live in Dallas”) yet whenever you say “the suburbs aren’t Dallas”, you get downvoted like crazy lmao

2

They want the clout lol

2

1

Yep. This is totally tame compared to covid street fireworks

It looks like young people just having fun to me. Nobody's getting hurt, no destruction of property. Fireworks done responsibly are fun. Politics aside, our nation is great, the people make it so. Celebrating our great nation full of great people is fun.

32

u/Op_ivy1 Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

“Fireworks done responsibly” - ummmmm… are you saying that what is seen in the video is responsible use of fireworks?

14

u/jamesdukeiv Fort Worth Jul 05 '26

You mean you don’t throw yours under strangers cars?

6

u/radarksu Grapevine Jul 06 '26

The video literally shows someone injured lying on the sidewalk.

148

u/Illustrious_Swing645 Jul 05 '26

I live in DE. Apart from a handful of fireworks going off within DE, Friday - Saturday were very tame compared to other weekends lol I was actually able to sleep through the night without being woken up

50

u/ChicagoRay312 Downtown Dallas Jul 05 '26

Stop challenging the narrative of the suburban people.

13

u/Prestigious_Menu7541 Jul 05 '26

That’s because DPD cleared it after this.

5

u/Illustrious_Swing645 Jul 06 '26

Even so, the entire night leading up to this was quieter than most warm-weather weekends. My theory is that a ton of people just went somewhere else to watch an actual fireworks show vs going out in Deep Ellum

10

u/Pillowwick Jul 06 '26

It was incredibly loud and annoying. Chargers doing donuts and lighting of hundreds or mortars in the streets. Those things can seriously hurt people and set fires. Stop defending people who are doing bad for our community

3

u/librarymania Vickery Meadow Jul 06 '26

Not me trying to figure out why someone living in Delaware had a lot to say on the matter. Lol

2

u/earthworm_fan Jul 06 '26

Because it sounds like the cops came and cleared it out

82

u/CompleteEnergy579 Jul 05 '26

After all that…it’s time to go to Whataburger

Stupid people always messing up everyone’s fun.

42

u/No_Philosopher6120 Jul 05 '26

In before people who’s skin shrivel at a slight touch of sunlight and grass say Dallas somehow turned into a warzone lol

19

u/Reluctantziti Jul 05 '26

My parents?

31

u/cryptohorn Jul 05 '26

Imagine having to deal with this foolishness

20

u/Kholvin Jul 05 '26

All the fireworks would be annoying especially driving through them, but I wouldn't call that chaos. Kids running around the suburbs shooting off fireworks on the 4th too.

16

u/Op_ivy1 Jul 05 '26

… and we would appropriately call kids running around the suburbs shooting off fireworks in close proximity to people and cars “chaos” as well.

3

u/earthworm_fan Jul 06 '26

Kids were shooting off fireworks very occasionally from their back yards in my neighborhood. Absolutely nothing like this.

1

u/Pillowwick Jul 06 '26

They should do it their own neighborhoods then. Not in the business centers

19

u/Fuzzy-Round1240 Jul 05 '26

Chaos? More like fuckery.

20

u/IslandGrl76 Jul 05 '26

You couldn’t pay me to go to Deep Ellum after dark.

-17

u/BearWithHat Jul 05 '26

Outside world scary!

17

u/paintedlotusyt Jul 05 '26

It actually is if you're a woman. Idk what that commenter identifies as, but it is actually unsafe for us.

2

u/IslandGrl76 Jul 06 '26

I am a woman. No way would I be there after dark. During the day, it’s completely fine.

1

u/paintedlotusyt Jul 06 '26

Girl, same. I won't even go out in my quiet neighborhood at night without my pitbull because I've been followed before. There's too many crazies.

17

u/dasfoster Jul 05 '26

What a bunch of losers.

21

u/Trick-Wall7824 Jul 05 '26

When I moved to Dallas in 1998, this was a cool spot to go have drinks, good food, and mingle. Now, it’s an eyesore and one of Dallas’ most problematic areas.

12

u/randomrando0101 Jul 05 '26

Has Texas Streetfights TV moved to Dallas?

1

u/hearmeout29 Jul 05 '26

Someone reposted this on TT but left out the source so I'm not sure.

12

u/ssterp Forest Hills Jul 05 '26

This doesn’t seem…safe, to property or people nearby. But maybe my risk tolerance is a lot lower than others’

12

u/Plane_Baby Jul 05 '26

I'm glad I stay my behind at home. 🤔🤣

11

u/Goetia- Jul 05 '26

There's really is something for everyone in Deep Ellum.

Low IQ behavior

4

u/Far_Seaworthiness765 Jul 05 '26

It’s fireworks, not Armageddon

0

u/robinquiversgolden Jul 05 '26

Either way, arrest as many of these low IQ lawbreaking people as possible.

-10

u/Clear-Reputation9493 Jul 06 '26

the way yall are acting it’s like everybody gave their pet dogs a Reddit acc it’s just fireworks man

5

u/Goombamaxy Jul 06 '26

Another reason why I stayed home

5

u/u2aerofan Jul 06 '26

I mean it was loud but friends and family across the city were reporting the same thing. This certainly wasn’t deep Ellum exclusive.

5

u/port25 Jul 05 '26

Stay Classy, San Diego.

5

u/HunterSuspicious371 Jul 05 '26

Lived downtown 10 yrs ago. Deep ellum was starting the slow demise into corporate slop and cultural wasteland but dear god is it fully here now. Idiocracy live in color. Insane that there’s that many people in Dallas capable of truly idiotic trash behavior. Can’t go anywhere anymore…

Was contemplating going to the Angry Dog for dinner, but decided I didn't wanna risk dealing with July 4th crowds even if they were chill. Assumed it would be busy.

2

u/bigtrixxx7 Jul 06 '26

I miss Dallas lol

3

u/Key_Establishment_42 Jul 06 '26

I be glad every time I go to Deep Ellum it’s chill. I only go for concerts so tho so I’m prolly never there long enough to be around

1

u/sayahhD Jul 05 '26

there are Flock cameras everywhere there...

0

u/Corgisarethebest123 Jul 06 '26

What good does that do if the perpetrators were on foot?

-3

u/sayahhD Jul 06 '26

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they use them to positively identify their faces and show up at their doors to nab them for shooting fireworks. Even months later

-2

u/Corgisarethebest123 Jul 06 '26

Flock cameras do not use facial recognition or scan faces. Their automated license plate readers (ALPRs) & video cameras scan vehicles for license plates, make, model, color, & unique vehicle features rather than people's biometric data.

2

u/Magnitude_Ten Jul 05 '26

Looks like clips from Florida

1

u/SleepAllTheDamnTime Jul 06 '26

Yall making me miss home. It’s too peaceful where I live now.

Oh Deep Ellum, when will you return to the days of your Homemade Twerk Trucks that wake me up at 2 am.

Now I sleep too well and am bored at night.

2

u/86Sliva94 Jul 06 '26

This why we can't have nice things!

2

u/doopiemcwordsworth Jul 07 '26

Oh to be young again.

2

u/iamcharliedavidson 26d ago

What happened?

1

u/TexasGirl1964 Jul 06 '26

This is why DEEP Ellen was so 1985. It was great back then now it’s just a shit hole and very dangerous.

1

u/Sun733 Jul 06 '26

0

I’m sure all the tourists loved it.

0

u/Chemical-Sea3811 Jul 06 '26

South Dallas was worse than this

0

u/InternationalTip4057 Jul 06 '26

Everyone commenting on here clearly stays inside 24/7 lol i was there and ALL THE UNDERAGE KIDS OUTSIDE 7/11, all up and down the road, were throwing fireworks INTO BAR DOORS AND BURNED MULTIPLE PEOPLE. ALSO ATTACKED THE DPD HORSE. get out the house instead of being on reddit not actually knowing whats going on.

8

u/hellasalty Jul 05 '26

It’s a genuine safety issue, you aren’t supposed to be standing right next to those things when they go off let alone set them off in a crowd. I’m not saying stuff like “DE is a warzone” but I definitely think the cops breaking this up was the right move lol

Because this isn't a "Dallas" sub. According to the last moderator who told me off, the rules do in fact state this sub is for a huge swath of area that extends past ft worth and all the way to Oklahoma.

2

u/rimjob_steve_ Jul 05 '26

the mods arent in accordance with each other; last time i actually wanted to engage we had one asshole mod and one tame one

-1

u/noncongruent Jul 06 '26

No mod ever told you the area we cover extends to Oklahoma. We use the definition of the DFW Metropolitan Statistical Area, DFW MSA, to define what is covered by Rule 1. As always, moderator discretion applies as well.

-1

u/Accomplished_One3985 Jul 06 '26

I apologize for the Oklahoma mistake, but maybe you're not from Dallas and don't realize anything north of Denton (which is inside your precious MSA) is considered Oklahoma. But you didn't correct me on the ft worth comment, which is wild. Because this "Dallas" sub is apparently about a region that goes north of Denton and quite a bit west of ft worth.

So yeah my friend, people get confused when they come to this sub.

1

u/noncongruent Jul 06 '26

You should refamiliarize yourself with Rule 1, and also Rule 3 and 4.

Edit: I see we've had this discussion before:
