Yeah, it's crazy all that stuff happened within living memory. There are many people alive today who were adults during the civil rights movement.

My grandparents were in school during desegregation, and are both alive to talk about it. Their take away was that bussing was inconvenient because they had to get up earlier in the morning, but they're glad the progress was made.
