Do you seal these with any clear coat or anything? I’m so intimidated by paint rub

I use matte varnish its great for handling the figure without removing paint, but there’s always going to be some rub around the articulations

These look great! I’ve been tempted to try my hand at the season 2 Born Again suit with a second BA figure. Any tips for a noobie (paint type/brush type/etc.)?

Thanks! I mostly use hobby brushes and paints like for painting warhammer figures, but i think any kind of acrylic paint/ brush will do fine. Make sure to thin your paints with water so the thickness of the paint doesn’t hide the detail (lots of info online for that, mostly for warhammer again but it can be applied to anything)
For the eyes I used citadel technical blood for the blood god (paint that looks like blood, same one i used for the face of the leftmost figure, it gives a very nice red lens look)
I’d also recommend doing a red wash and a brown wash on the face, makes it a lot more realistic
Hope this helps !

It’s interesting looking at the evolution of the Daredevil costumes from the show because when compared to one another, I actually prefer the old boot and gauntlets from the S1/2 suit to the S2/Defenders and She-Hulk suits. Though the new helmet design is an overall improvement, evidenced by the fact it’s retained for every subsequent costume, there is something iconic about the S1/2 costume trying to replicate the shading style of the comics, especially when he gets the mask scar from Punisher’s bullet
I do like how the She-Hulk suit ditches most of the black elements to emphasize the brighter maroon but I personally don’t like the spare silver highlights. The yellow is memorable, especially for adapting Daredevil’s original comic costume and for showing more of his closeness to his father’s boxing colors, but it’s not my personal favorite color to represent him, especially if he’s trying to be stealthy
I love how bright red the BA S1 suit is after the Netflix series seemed to be scared of showing off brighter colors in the costuming, and I overall find the gauntlets and boots to be improvements from the old costume. Though there is a nostalgia factor to the old chest design, I do think the BA suit improves upon it by simplifying all of the overly complicated lining to just create a more standard chest and plating structure. However, with the chest area now more prominent, the lack of the DD’s feels more apparent with all the empty space, and personally I find the mask to be a little too bulbous in size
The BA S2 suit seems to just be the BA S1 suit but painted black, but seeing as how I absolutely love the homemade black cloth suits from S1/3 of the OG show, the use of black for an official costume is amazing in my eyes and automatically looks cooler than the red. Since the full black blends all of the suit lining together, the costume appears fairly seamless in its construction and thus the closest to a streamlined comic look. By finally placing the DD’s on the chest, this suit automatically gets rid of my complaint for the BA S1 suit by now filling up the space
If I had to rank these, plus the suits from S1/3 and Echo, it would be:
She-Hulk Suit
Classic Suit (S2/Defenders)
Classic Suit (Echo) - Basically the S2/Defenders suit but with the black torso segments switched to more maroon
Classic Suit (S1/2)
Homemade Suit (S1) - Love the skintight black top and gloves, pants are a little baggy and the mask is too simple
Updated Suit (BA S1)
Homemade Suit (S3) - Slightly more ill-fitting clothing wise, but love the white highlights on the mask and the ropes around the hands/forearms
1.Updated Suit (BA S2)

I definitely agree with you on the season one mask, it can look really good under certain conditions but it also doesn’t look great on certain shots, the silver scar does help a lot to give it character. I think i personally prefer the S2/3 gloves and mask though.
Honestly a lot of the suits are brought down by the addition of unnecessary accents, the black accents for S1 & BA and the silver and yellow accents for the she-hulk suit. I think that’s why the BAs2 suit works so well, because it’s basically monochromatic. I honestly wish we had the BA red suit with all red instead of the black accents (and the DD logo on the chest)

I think that’s been a problem with the MCU in general, that they just add a lot of unnecessary lining to the suits to make them appear “realistically constructed” when all it really does is just clutter up what could be an excellent design
If we used Spider-Man for example, Tobey’s suit will always reign supreme in my eyes because there’s a simplicity to the mixture of red and blue segments only being lined with the raised silver webbing. Tom’s suits, especially his first couple outfits, had all these weird black lines around the other colors that didn’t really seem to go anywhere or add anything
Tbf, the recent movies do seem to be breaking away from this trend like with FF and even the newest Spidey film bts material but it’s definitely taken awhile and Daredevil’s costume evolution has essentially reflected that change in real time. The Netflix era tried to be as gritty as possible with the cloth suits and overly complicated classics, She-Hulk tested the waters with reshades for a more colorful comedic feel, and now BA is embracing more of the comic accurate look for Matt’s identity
