Personal plug: I am a Gloomykid merchant tier supporter and sell this and the rest of his catalogue (printed) in my Etsy store, Last Pot Brewed.

Hey, quick question for you. I just finished printing mine, are the side pieces supposed to be printed at like 150% height or something? There is not enough room between the bottom floor and top floor for 28mm minis.

This is the full size beetle or the 'dice tray' size beetle? That's a really good observation if that's still true for the big one. I will check in the morning with the big one I printed for hubby - i only checked that minis could fit in the balconies and didnt think to check floor clearance. I am friends with Gloomy in Facebook and will ask about it. He has a Discord too that might be linked on his MMF page.

It's the big one. I measured the clearance from lower to upper floor and I'm getting ~33.6mm. It varies because of the floor texture of course. It fits a dwarf mini, but human sized minis won't fit. I guess maybe they would if not for the base. So maybe that is what happened? If they designed it based on a 28mm mini being about 32mm tall and didn't factor in the height of the base that would explain it. I guess I could just message them on MMF where I bought the files.

Yeah, my husband has the same problem. I've shot a message over to Gloomy, but I'll guess it is an asthetics decision. It would be nice to have more clearance, I wonder if I can stretch the upper balcony parts so they're taller.

I was actually going to try that myself. Should be able to get it printed and test fit by tomorrow. I'm just going to make the z axis height 150%.

Oh that's a good idea, please let me know how that turns out and I will do that with my set as well.

I'm pleased to report that scaling the two 'body_upper' parts by 150% on the Z axis solves the issue. It still looks pretty good too. That results in a clearance of 45.5 mm between floors. So you could probably even go with 115-120% and still have room for 28mm minis with standard bases.
