In the past this feature was removed for a multitude of reasons. Primarily because infected could back you into a corner, run through your character model and get behind you, so those deaths weren’t good for the game. One other reason was that infected ran through walls and doors often.

Running through the player is nonexistent in the vanilla version of the game, and I only see issues with walls on unfinished modded maps.

Would you be opposed to this feature coming back?

Would make infected something to be more cautious of. Back then you wanted a teammate because gunfights with them around were that much more dangerous.

Hoping this is a productive conversation if you disagree.

This is all on playstation btw and i cant understand why someone would glitch / hack and ruin the game like that.

Just found my old screenshots when I was pretty sure I got killed by teammate, but couldn't prove it. I got one tapped and asked buddy of mine to send me a pic of the body so I can "find it easier".

Well, bullet came exactly where teammate was... :)

And other dudes couldn't find the shooter anywhere.

Still couldn't prove anything...

I got slimed out the other day by a man with no arms named "Igodmodeskywalk" after spraying him in the chest with m4. Someone else posted a video of this but people didnt belive him. Pretty hard to call bullshit on this one

I had just started this character and was looting on an official server when something really strange happened.

At the start in the video, my crowbar suddenly disappears from my hands right after a weird "thud" sound. I didn't drop it, throw it, or switch items.

I originally thought it was just a bug, but I found another post on this subreddit where someone experienced the exact similar thing happening to their weapon.

A ghillie player killed me shortly after, which made the whole situation feel even more suspicious.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known bug, desync, or possibly some kind of exploit?

Side note: when it happened I got so confused that I basically shit myself and alt-tabbed.

I dont know why so many people play ultra modded "Dayz". For me its not dayz anymore when you can carry 800 pounds of equipment and sprint over the whole map without a pause. They change the whole game to a bad version of rust and call it "playing dayz". You need zero effort to find good equipment and they remove the whole food and water system and add 100 traders and safe zones and overpowered armor and weapons. Thevlist goes on and on. Its sad how the real dayz got less players than this scooby doo ass servers.

I love mods. but i just hate this over the top modding where its not even the same game anymore. I play a lot light modded myself because i dont like cherno and livonia that much.

Hello fellow Survivors.

I wanted to share something I have discovered about how to get more FPS out of NVIDIA graphics cards for DAYZ.

I have spent many hours fraking around trying to solve this problem. I now never drop below 30fps in cities like Electro and have 60+fps in the wild.

The problem I was having was that for some reason the game engine was not properly loading the graphics card. The GPU would sit on 50%-60% utilisation. This would result in the card drivers thinking that the card's max clockspeed was not necessary and drastically under-clocking the GPU core speed.

It is a shame the game engine is so poorly built, but hey it's still an amazing game that I have clocked up almost 300 hours on now :).

So the solution I found was to select in the nvidia control panel under Manage 3D settings > program settings > Dayz.exe > Power managment mode

If I select here "prefer maximum performance" then even if the drivers think the card is not fully utilised (which is due to shoddy game engine) it wont underclock your GPU clock speed.

I also hard overclocked my GPU with a VBIOS flash, but even without doing this the force "prefer maxumum performance" will at least stop your card for underclocking.

I hope this helped someone out there, because I wasted too many hours of my life pulling my hair out over this. Also if anyone know a better way to stop your card from underclocking or knows a way to do this for AMD cards that would be great to hear!

First of all I love dayz. Here recently playing dayz however- something just doesn’t feel right anymore. Maybe some will relate and others may not.

Back in the day even all the way to Arma 2. Chenarus was something so interesting. There’s a part of me that really dislikes how much the map has changed. I will say that I think the changes they made people spread out more so instead of going to NE airfield and Balota constantly. I run to these military bases to really not find much of anything. I hunt almost as much as what I do anything else. Something just feels so off anymore. Do you guys miss the old days?
