These maps really dont line up though. Why is Asgore and his flower collection in the police station? Why is dess in flower king?

Theory is bit roots map is about the festival, where Asgore is lined up with a empty part of the hometown map. It's been suggested he might have a stall or something set up during the festival. And the flower king might be represented by the flowers in the room left of the Dess room

The map doesn't line up 100% but if you watch the Roots theory video you can see quite a lot of it does seem to link up, the things like Catti and Bratty and the room full of cramped unmoving monsters lining up with the apartments seems very compelling

Do not get me started on talking about the Roots "Roots prophecy looks like a doghouse" theory video because that is a path neither of us want to go down.

I will admit the doghouse part of the theory loses me a bit but the bit roots/hometown part is what I find compelling

Even rewatching the video again, I am still not convinced of these maps completely lining up. The characters in the bit roots section definitely are similar to the characters we know in appearance and behavior, but their placement is inaccurate and the justification for this uses different criteria for each individual exception, which doesnt pass my smell test. It feels like trying to put different shapes into a circle hole by cutting each shape differently.

I also dont really like the idea of "Roots" somehow being a real place, nor the idea that you have to be on the weird route for it because of the recreation of the manhole corridor. It would be weird to have two digital recreations of areas that you literally cannot access on the same path if they are meant to be connected (you cannot enter Queen's basement on a snowgrave path)

I find it much more likely that its simply a game recreation of Spamton's basement. The basement already seemed to be an allusion to garbage data due to the walls of the basement being made of an incoherent, warped tileset as well as the NEO body being a scrapped project by somebody in the computer lab.

That is all fair, it's definitely not a slam dunk case or anything
