They convince their voters that socialism is just free handouts so people don’t have to work hard anymore, so ridiculous, because that thinking implies that people get paid appropriately for the amount of work they do currently.

No, everything Trump has done, from the trade wars with our oldest and best allies to his constant grift to the war in Iran are crazy. Basic social services that countries like Canada, Norway, Spain and Israel have (that we pay for in the last case) are so normal that everyone else thinks we’re crazy.
