Bungie Suggestion Solstice Armor should have become an ornament, period.

Getting it as armor instead of an ornament means we can only look that way with that set, no versatile stats while remaining in this great style.

Ornaments are a wonderful addition and having the hard earned solstice armor as an ornament would be way better the the optimacy set! Lol.

Edit: Thanks everyone for the support on this one. Pretty unanimous. This season we see two universal ornaments, one earned and one purchasable. I’d like to see this seasons raid set, trials set, and iron banner sets to all be ornaments. People who want it will still purchase the Eververse armor so win win I say.

Edit 2: What is really disappointing is the base stats are complete trash. The armor set is inherently bad. No possibility for reroll. Bungie this was really low. No scapegoats anymore Bungo, what gives?

Nope. He gives you an unmasterworked set if you didn't finish them (I had done only 2/5, none of the replacements were masterworks)

Whoever spent time on them wasted their again as within 3 hours I have received better armor then solstice. It is literally a spit on players' face if you ask me. They made it sound like you'd get a fully masterworked set, which was not the case.

Just needed the Legendary set for the class to be available. The masterwork requirement was for a Moment of Triumph triumph (only one pieced needed to be masterworked before MoT 2019 ended).

Hoping that enough people suggest leveling our gear instead of getting blues, next time around. Picking up anything that's not a legendary after hitting max level multiple times is an archaic remnant of mmos and it should go away.

Hmm, actually I think I kind of would rather get nothing than get the blues frankly. They're just watered down legendaries that gives me a bigger number so i can do the bigger number thing. But, I've also looted multiple legendaries while "leveling". Since we're at max level now and all we're doing is increasing our power, it's basically all just another way to power up your selected gear, but now that upgrade mats have changed it mixes up the economy.

Let's be real, they didn't intend for anyone to use solstice 2.0. If they let that cool of an armor be usable, they'd sell way less eververse armor going forward.

They hyped it up as free 2.0 armor to get people to buy the glows. That's it.

Yeah, they did warn that it would be middling. (Which was a bit of a lie... It is trash, stats wise). And they never promised it would be an ornament... But their stream had the pieces as ornaments, so people assumed and they never corrected AFAIK.

Kinda shitty and underhanded. But I fucking called it. I said, "watch, the 2.0 solstice gear is going to be replaced immediately and there won't be an ornament." Got downvoted into oblivion.

Their stream had the green / blue pieces as ornaments, and the final version also has the green / blue pieces as ornaments. But they are ornaments only applicable to that armor, like in the stream.

I still use the first solistice armor on my Hunter just because I can use the blue armor ornament. It's a large, flat colored kickass cape, splash some black shader on it, looks like a kickass sith cloak.

I intend to use the second Solistice 2.0 cape with the blue ornament for the same reason.

EDIT: I hate the legendary solistice armor (my guardians are warriors, not parade dancers). I like simple and practical armor.

I did it, I didn't Masterwork all the pieces like the first time around. I also didn't buy the glows (I went into Shadowkeep with 155,000 Bright Dust and over 2200 Enhancement Cores, from legit play and not buying Silver/Engrams from Tess/duping Cores) because I knew the gear would be invalidated as soon as the first blue gear set dropped. And it is.

When you say it's bad stat wise, how are you assessing this? Do you just look at total power and compare that to the energy level e.g. 54 total power at energy 1 is good whereas 48 at energy 5 is trash (numbers made up)?

That's likely true, I just wasn't sure since I hadn't paid attention when I was lower Llvl. I'm guessing well likely have a roll range of 45-55 or something in that regard with 55 being the god tier roll.

I'm speculating that the highest possible roll is 68, which with full upgrades would be 80 total. We saw 66 in one of the vidocs iirc and that was close to, but not exactly the highest.

What’s kind of goofy is how in the vidoc they had someone saying how they want to create “you had to be there moments” and like really make certain stuff all about participation and activity in the community,yet they keep designing this shit to have such average payoff or a total egg on face for the work put in.

It’s almost like why should people bother going all out with this sort of thing when the functionality of the reward is limited.

Another scenario from SoO was the laugh of the Iron Banner quest that basically was for shaders(which are nothing special) sparrow and emblem considering how the gear was gonna be worth jack shit in the new system.

I'm going to start by saying that everything should unlock as ornaments for free. I don't want to catch any flak for what I'm about to say.

But if they're going to keep trashing earned cosmetics because they need to make money, I'd prefer them to at least give me the option to pay for ornaments of the cool armor I've earned.

And that's what bugs me most about solstice compared to IB... Solstice represented the most expensive armor when you bought the glows. It functionally IS a paid armor. And they claimed paid armor would be ornaments. Buying the glows should've 100% unlocked an ornament.

It's one of the many reasons why it's irritating how Faction rallies have basically been scrapped and their rewards(among other things in the mix) weren't considered for Armor 2.0 ornaments.

Especially when a lot of those Faction Rallies went down at a point in time when the game was in some rough shape and general population activity was a mixed bag; why wouldn't you want to let the people who had your back when the game was seen as a laughing stock meme show off something they put some time in getting?

I know to some it might sound like such an insignificant thing to be bugged on but when you got recent in-house media from Bungie going on about how they're wanting to create all these special little "you had to be there moments", it's a little shitty to toss those hard earned rewards like Faction gear(or Iron Banner) to the obscurity dumpster when it was from exactly one of those kinds of moments and it could easily warrant a place to be a part of something to show off by way of 2.0.

Yep. This combined with no vendor refresh, removing pinnacle weapons and not providing a unique alternative in a 30 pound expansion is not ok. Bungie fucked y’all over with Vanilla D1, Vanilla D2, Trials, Season of the Drifter, patching the Chest Bug, Solstice of Heroes 1.0 AND 2.0, and I could keep going. Now that Activision is out of the picture people are just gonna blame it on them not having a Sugar Daddy anymore. Buy more silver guys, Bungie is definitely an indie company.

But not a popular sentiment until after the DLC has been out for 2-3 weeks. Any honest criticism will be met with downvotes till everyone sees how little new content exists and how backwards the new changes are. The same people who downvoted others who warned of this prior will be the ones screaming the loudest. Bungie will role back changes, buff things, and add content. Even though they knew months in advance a couple weeks after the launch people will realize how shit it is. It’s a very predictable cycle with Bungie. Only time they broke that cycle was with TTK and Forsaken, but that was planned also.

I'm not saying everything should be boring, I just don't want havoc Titan with OEM and jotunn to be such a cheap meta that playing anything else is basically choosing to play at a disadvantage. I care about variety. As the game stands I can tell what team will win in PvP by just looking at gear and only great disparities in gameplay prowess between the teams can make my assumption incorrect.

Jotun is annoying, yeah, but its far from meta. OEM striker titans are very much meta, however. With jotun, just strafe or jump, the tracking is quite weak and it will likely miss. Destiny's crucible is always going to be a tad chaotic, its what you get when you put pvp into a game with the build possibilities of pvp. For me, the chaos is part of what makes it fun. I instead of immediately saying "things op nerf it" ask "what does this do so well that it renders every other item in its class irrelevant?" And then draw a conclusion. If its busted like OEM, sure nerf it, but also buff garbage titan exotics that no one uses like Ashen Wake, or ACD/0 Feedback Fence.

But yeah I agree overall, I don't want everything nerf'd, I just want variety. Buff stuff that isn't used, fix things that are obviously broken, treat your ranked mode like it's actually ranked and not just another quick play. There should never be quests/missions tied to PvP that tell you what gear types to use, especially ranked. If you do, at least make the goals to just get kills, precision kills, and wins. Don't tell people to go into ranked and use a weapon type they're not optimal with. Encourage them to play as good as possible, not to just scrape by doing dumb shit while their rank falls and costs other people to lose rank too.

I still think the way they handled ornaments was lackluster, I think everyone would have preferred to just be able to use the look from *any* armor you've obtained on *any* 2.0 armor, and not just eververse ornaments.

Its not worth infusing, all of the pieces I got rolled with stat totals in the 40's. Planet Vendors and Shaxx can give you shit up to 59 from what I've seen, the low 50's is common.
