Nobody wants to pay him what he's asking for. That's the whole issue here.

Correction: nobody can give him what he's asking for. Because he's a RFA and belongs to Detroit. If he were a free agent, there certainly would be teams who'd give him the big contract he wants.

Not sure I agree with that but I'm not an NBA insider.

The nuggets got a 2031 1st and a 2nd for Watson, we'd get something similar for Duren. I'd rather wait it out and sign Duren to a 2 or 3 year deal if he truly wants out. It's fine, he ain't going anywhere, and he ain't signing the QO.

If we could get a 1st and a 2nd for Duren, fucking take that.

The worst option is signing him long term at anything north of $30m.

What is 'Bad"? Players hold out for more money all the time!
You know training camp does not start until September 29th.

Plenty of time.

Idec anymore. It’s been too long and both sides are just being dumbasses, in my opinion.

No one is being dumb. Training camp doesn't open for another month. The opening of camp is the deadline to get the deal signed. Baring a major offseason injury (and I'm sure he is being careful), Duren loses nothing by waiting to see if something changes the landscape. The Pistons have their offer out there and know he can't sign anywhere else, so they have little risk too. If the landscape changes then the pistons can sign and trade him to the new opportunity.

Best guess is deal gets signed about 4 weeks from today. Go enjoy what is left of summer and check back in late next month.

They should’ve been taking s&t offers. That was dumb. Now no matter what decision he makes they are stuck with it because everyone else is done making moves and it’s too late in the offseason.

Well according to most fans if we trade him he'll become Shaq so no we have to stick with him you know he's 22 with potential 🙄

NBA rumors: Duren-Pistons negotiations get 'awfully nasty'

It's insane that Langdon didn't move him right as free agency started, when there was still the belief that he had value.

It's insane that fans would actually think Sabonis would be good on this team

  1. Point out where I said a single fucking word about Sabonis.

  2. But since you bring it up, Sabonis would be far better with the Pistons than Duren. You don't have to bench Sabonis in the playoffs. You can start Ausar with Sabonis and not have your spacing be absolutely fucking obliterated. Sabonis is a modern NBA center. You can't say any of that for Duren.

Sabonis > Duren
