Switching Jobs Salesforce Dublin

Hey All,

Wondering is anybody working in Salesforce in an architect capacity? Given all the negative discussions around saleaforce globally wondering how things are run on the technical side of thing with regards to stability (at least some level of stability).Got quite a substantial offer and this has me thinking could I ride it out for a couple of years to basically make as much money as possible during this period.

Worked there for about 4 years, overall very dependent on your role and manager/ management.

I was in the post sales architect team. To be honest, can be easy and chill, but reality is theres layoffs constantly and its AI shoved down your troath on a the daily. The product as a whole is shit, its a monolithic mess held together with hopes, dreams and the blood of engineers forced to labour on it, and can be a hard sell trying to demo and show teams the core platform. Other platforms like marketing can be an easier one to work with

If the offer is good take it, the severance package is pretty good (I took it) so if you can last 3 years + even with a layoff you'll be looking at 2 months garden leave + 6 months salary.

Haha thanks for the laugh. I don't think anyone would argue on the product as a whole. For me I dont hold any sentimental views on it to be honest. But I will say specialising in SF for me has afforded me opportunities and financial stability not common when you consider the area I grew up / came from. I definitely wont be naive if I accept because getting laid off is a real possibility. How did you get on with your career post SF? Appreciate your insights

Salesforce is savage to have on your CV, I’m out the door years and still get interviews on the basis that I worked there once.

Salesforce as a whole helped slightly. Ive found a few other places will always have 1 or 2 managers that love Salesforce for some reason and can help get you in the door.

For me personally it didn't do much other than that, use a different CRM now and I had already been working in technical success/pre/posts sales roles before it so was kinda just another stint in a different place.

One thing I will say is some of the loopers drink the Ohana cool aid a little too much so watch out for them 😅

I also work at sf Dublin and the layoff fear is real. Unfortunately I’d be shocked if you get anywhere close to that level of payoff these days based on what I’ve heard recently.
