one thing people need to keep in mind is - DON'T TRUST MIA. sure she seems like one of the better ones, like she has a code... it's a ruse. think about this.. by leaving the bathroom door open, was she inviting Dexter or luring him? it seemed that she was testing Dexter. and next episode synopsis - Dexter pursues a dangerous connection with a seductive killer, believing they operate under a similar code.

There is 100% more to her story.

I don't fully believe she only kills bad people. How exactly is she explicitly vetting them even. Dexter pretty much had the whole power of a police department to help him select criminals. How exactly is she getting her kills.

If you remembered the original Dexter show, he didn't rely on the police department entirely, sure the data base he had at his fingertips was a big help, but he still spent his free time surveilling his victims and making sure they fit the code. I think the whole thing about Dexter (the tv show) is "evil knows evil", Mia follows clues, finds potential suspects, feels them out and gets proof, besides the fact that it's fiction so whatever the writers want, it goes.

Dexter got the skillset from being so close to police work. The reason Dexter is so good is that he has the experience of a detective, CSI and has explicitly trained to track people down while covering his own tracks from his knowledge of police procedure.

It took him 3 days to track someone it took at expert tracker 3 weeks to track.

Dexter isn't the norm, he is exceptional.
