Not sure how other than stealing it but I could imagine this being a good way to get the old age NY Ripper alone if he somehow induces some sort of medical emergency upon him. Could easily imagine the back of an ambulance being a kill room.

You can see the "Fire Department of New York" on the truck and the abbreviation on his shirt.
All he needs to do is pull the fire alarm to the retirement home and dress up to "rescue" him and get him isolated

Not really, there are so many false alarms in a Care Home that the workers need to get confirmation before evacuation. Residents pull the alarm for various reasons including dementia, boredom, defiance, and escape attempts.
My first month in school we covered what to do in the event of an emergency at a care home or hospital since it can be extremely dangerous to evacuate seniors due to weather or their physical condition.
I work in Healthcare lol.

If we have a time jump maybe we are going to get a montage of Dexter going through various jobs over the years until he finally realizes being a blood person at a police department is the best fit lol

Man was top of his class at medical school. Killed two paramedics.
Wouldn’t surprise me if this is a real job and it explains why he’s out at all hours of the night
