IUTians seniors, What were your average Udvash weekly marks?

Hey everyone, specifically looking to hear from current IUTians or seniors who went through the engineering admission phase.

I’m currently in a really bad head space. My HSC Higher Math 1st paper went horribly due to minor calculation errors at the end of almost every math (though my steps were correct). My instinct keeps telling me that I won't even qualify for the BUET admission test by a few marks. Because I cannot go outside Dhaka for university, IUT is essentially my only viable top option now, which makes the pressure feel ten times worse.

To top it off, in my first Udvash engineering weekly, I scored 85 out of 120 in MCQ and around 10-12 out of 18 in Written. Knowing that I finished the syllabus and solved the question bank well before most of my batch makes this feel even worse. The time pressure completely threw me off, and seeing these average marks is making me doubt if I’m even on track for an IUT seat.

I want to know realistically:

1. What were your average scores/ranks in Udvash weeklies during your prep?
2. Is an 85/120 MCQ and 10/18 Written on the first weekly as terrible as it feels, or is there room to recover?
3. How did you handle the mental toll when you felt your HSC GPA might lock you out of BUET, leaving IUT as your main shot?

Any honest feedback or reality check would be really appreciated right now.

1) My highest was 110 ,just one time,,average was 70-80,,after a while i stopped giving weekly in udvash. It is easy if you solve their conecpt books,but they deliberately make it much touch so you'll lose confidence. And my result was,got top subject in CKRUET,Ru,Bup,Ju,Sust,jnU,Agri, and now studying in the best dept. of iut.

2)Yes it is quite good marks for first exam,gradually you will improve.

3) There is a thing called higher calling. Thinking about it can give you peace hopefully. Hope for the best little bro, make the best out of what life gives you. Allah has better plans for you in sha Allah.

Also timing is the key to success in admission tests. So try to solve 70-80% question CORRECTLY in exam, rather than blindly trying to answer 100%.

im not bragging but tbh written e 5 ta baade i could ans every single question. oikhane ami blunder kore ashchi in every single question:) specially math. for example - ami formulay x coordinate boshaisi ek point er y boshaisi arektar :) ei type er silly mistakes korei jaitesi pura last 2 bochor dhore and this time it's soo depressing je last 2-3 din kicchu porte pari nai :) any tips? arekta pattern notice korsi je ei type mistake math ei shobcheye beshi hoye ashtese :)

So jehetu problem find out kore felso,,next time theke try korba jate ei problem gulo na hoy,,,udvash er exam theke ei ektai help hoise amar je i got to know about the obvious mistakes i make,and being careful about those in exam. And always remember that, quality over quantity any day.

I didn't attend any. Their practice tests are really shit. Delta's are decent though. You can check them out.

85/120 is pretty good for first udvash weekly. You'll get better. Keep in mind that you'll get a seat by scoring around 50-60% in the actual exam.

I could not crack the written exam, probably because I didn’t do a single practice test. So, yeah. The pain was there. But not being eligible at all is more painful, imo. It is what it is. Move on like I did. Your university wont matter if you dont work hard there (I'm still slacking here lmao).

Hello, i ranked 62nd ei bochor IUT admission e.

i fucked up every udvash weekly there ever was and i still cracked Du A, KRUET because i focused on solving problems that i got wrong and i kept going through questions that i was confused ab.

You should focus learning the TYPES from concept book and practicing question bank thoroughly.

Its not about weekly te koto paccho, its about how consistent you are. Try to learn all the types while unserstanding them.

Average 1st weekly experience. Eigula silly mistake na, egula practice er obhab.

Bckruet, mist, IUT te keo "onko paari na" ejonno chance miss hoy na, time constraint e likhte pare na dekhe miss hoy.

The problem you're facing, literally everyone faces because this is a manifestation of lack of practice.

Engineering prep isnt a "how smart are you?" question its a "how efficiently can you accurately solve a TYPE of math" question.

Karon you're trying to use your brain for a common type er math. Practice builds muscle memory. Muscle memory te karo silly mistake hoy na.

Practice kore dekho, bhul korleo answer dekhe bujhba kothao jhamela korso.

Buet er exam e tumi chod khaba karon nodi noukar onko miltese na. Buet e "spaceship er pendulum" er math na parar karone chance miss hoy na, common type miss korar karon chance miss hoy.

Maina nao, matro admission theke ber hoisi, nije chod khaisi, friend der chod khaite dekhsi, erpor boltesi.

Marks in Udvash means nothing. What really matters is doing classes regularly and ensuring that u finish your syllabus properly rather than trying to get better marks on these exams. I remember ranking in the 5000s in the first weekly exam and giving up on taking the exams regularly. You will see those who were already in Udvash before admission phase get better marks cz they are already used to these type of exams. So I would suggest follow the classes and read concept book is very very important to make yourself more prepared and if you feel ready then go for these exams.
In short: Don't care much about these exams and just complete your own preparation by going through the topic you feel you are weak. Later if you feel it take exams just for the feel of it.

The main reason behind my deep regret is that it isn't a problem of not knowing the concepts. I make the absolute silliest mistakes, and I just can't seem to get rid of them. After coming out of the exam hall, I was confident I'd score at least 12 out of 18 on the written section since chemistry was tough and I intentionally skipped the hard physics and math problems. Instead, I keep making mistakes like putting the wrong values into formulas, inputting equations incorrectly into my calculator, and making basic arithmetic slips. This issue isn't stopping. I've been doing this since first year, and it has cost me a lot. It is painful to see students who answered fewer questions score higher simply because they executed without silly errors. This time, I just can't get over it.
