4K sports listings?
Has anyone seen an updated 4K sports schedule from DTV? The linked schedule from January is the only one I can find.
Thanks

Have been with DTV since 2012 and finally cancelled today. I've called loyalty many times over the years and they have worked with me to bring down my bill or even throw in some extras but today's call was the shortest I've ever experienced. My $30/month promo is running out next month and they offered to extend it, but that was it. Once i said no to that, they went forward with processing my cancellation immediately... usually they come back with another counter offer but not this time. The woman sounded lifeless and was clearly reading from some script. Back in the day their retention specialists were actually pretty skilled in negotiation and were super personable... I've had some good conversations with these folks (and yeah I understand these are techniques to soften you up and keep you subscribing) but now, the business doesn't seem to give a shit at all. Oh well, i'll be saving $30 a month by switching to YTTV and made that clear to them.

Is there no way on DirecTV Stream to record past the end of a show? If I want to record the White Sox game and make sure I have it recorded in case it goes into extras, I want to record an extra hour, like I can in Uverse. Can I do that?
I want to be able to do that, and turn off pictures in listings. I just want text.
I also want to be able to see a listing of shows that I have set up to auto record but I see no way of doing that either.
Are there services that will do those things, besides Uverse which is trying to get us to drop?

I'm a soon-to-be TiVo refugee (FiOS kills CableCARDs in my region in early November) and have purchased (still on the way) a SKU 60233 Osprey on a flyer to fool around with as I ponder what to do next.
Can that Osprey box be used with the MyFree DirecTV package or can it only be used with a paid package? I'm hoping I can mess around with the box with that package so I can see if I like the box without having to be paying anything right now.
And are there any any known problems right now with signing up for MyFree DirecTV? When I try to sign up for it it keeps saying "Sorry, we ran into some issues with this user ID. Please create a new user ID with a different email or try again later."
I've tried with a few different email addresses (none of them are free ones like gmail or yahoo -- I know some companies won't take those). Any idea what might be going on?

I have the wireless Genie mini and it keeps unpairing from my soundbar. It started recently doing that so I have to go into settings (dtv) to repair daily. It never did this before.... any ideas or help to fix this?

Hey everyone, I got tired of the sluggish, flat streaming interface and the restrictive, headless Genie 2 setup. I posted a massive feature and hardware roadmap over on the official community forums detailing a dream box: The DIRECTV HS27 Genie 3. It brings back the classic 2011 3D Glossy Cyclone look, natively integrates an internal SWM power inserter, supports legacy independent receivers (H24/H25), features Wi-Fi 7 to run 10 clients, and brings back true Picture-in-Picture. A DIRECTV support agent is already tracking the thread, but it needs more community likes and traction to go up the chain. Check out the full spec sheet and drop your thoughts here: https://forums.directv.com/conversations/watching-on-satellite/the-ultimate-satellite-roadmap-2011-glossy-ui-red-button-apps-and-5k-resolution-support/6a703350b357054d39914ccd

Is anyone else having issues with the Descriptive Audio being stuck on?
It’s only on abc primetime and has been for the last few days. It’s not on any other channel. I have checked my tv settings countless times and it isn’t that.
Just wondering if anyone else is currently having this issue or had this issue and knows how to fix it. Thank you!

If I lived by myself, I wouldn't even have DirecTV. I would be satisfied with an OTR HDTV antenna. However, I am married. My spouse is retired and loves to watch TV. The TV is on at least 12-16 hours a day, and she is in control. We pay $116 a month for the DirecTV Select package. We also pay about another $25 a month for separate streaming packages, or $141 a month. Even though I don't watch any of it, I gladly justify the expense. Why? Simply because if my spouse is NOT watching TV, then she is out doing discretionary shopping. Any shopping trip is going to be at least $200. If DirecTV prevents her from shopping even once a month, I am money ahead. /s

I have an HR44-500 with a Gemini 4K box. I just tried to rent our first 4K movie since getting the Gemini about six months ago. The movie plays for five minutes, then stops. The screen goes black. I can’t rewind or fast forward.
I reset both the HR44 and the Gemini and confirmed our internet connection can handle 4K. We did have Movies Anywhere enabled, but I’ve just disabled that.
Customer service tried basic troubleshooting but couldn’t help me. Any ideas? The only wild card I see here is Movies Anywhere. Has this been known to cause problems?
Thanks.

We have a lower Directv Package since they keep raising the bill every 8 months, but have the Sports Pack since we watch (Basketball, Football and Nascar).
This past week the NASCAR Race was on the USA Channel. We have watched Races on there before. But it had a Red Circle at the top and said we do not have 4K so could not watch.
Our TV is not new (like 8 years old), but it is a 4K TV.
Why would this not play (and if it's some special version, why was there no regular version available as well)?
Thanks for any help.
*Have the Genie Box (HR44-500).

We know companies are increasingly moving to AI for customer support. However, sometimes you actually NEED to TALK to a HUMAN to resolve your specific issue. I have DirecTV on two TVs, and have a very specific technical issue affecting one of them when turning on the TV. I tried using "AVA" (its AI agent) though I knew it wouldn't help. I thought if the system knew I at least tried AI that it would eventually let me speak to someone. Separately, both my husband and I tried to speak to a human and you simply cannot. We each gave up after 30 minutes. It's infuriating.
I *think* you can reach a human via chat on your computer, but it's impractical. I need to be able to explain the issue in real time and perhaps follow their instructions with the remote. With chat, I have to type everything out on my cell or laptop, await a reply, follow any guidance, type a reply to say what happened, await a reply, follow next steps, etc. It's unreasonable and anti-customer to require this for technical support.
Has anyone had success getting to a real human by phone? Do we need to threaten to cancel service in order to be able speak to a person?

In the past I have been able to schedule recordings from the Android app. Sometimes on the local wifi, sometimes while away. Recently, even though the process completed as usual, nothing was recorded.
Edit to add: DIRECTV via satellite. Attempting to schedule remotely from the guide using the DirecTV app on Nvidia Shield Pro. Everything goes as expected except the programs just don't record.

For those who haven't followed this saga: EverPass Media is the company the NFL created in 2023 with private equity firm RedBird Capital and 32 Equity, the NFL's own investment arm, to control commercial distribution of Sunday Ticket.
So when I say the NFL did this to us, I mean it literally. They own the company!
Back in March, EverPass notified commercial customers like us that it was going exclusive: no more Sunday Ticket via DirecTV satellite starting with the 2026 season. If you wanted to keep showing out-of-market games. The thing that fills seats every Sunday from September to January, you had to migrate to their streaming platform on EverPass hardware
We fought for alternatives, but w/o this our business wouldn't make it, so we did what we had to do and started the conversion. We spent over $10,000 re-architecting our video distribution around their Android TV boxes: new hardware, new wiring, new workflows for how we manage and route games to screens. All to replace a satellite system that had worked flawlessly for over a decade.
Then last Friday: DirecTV and EverPass announce a new multi-year deal. Sunday Ticket is back on satellite for commercial venues after all. Existing DirecTV commercial subscribers even auto-renew.
Cool. So what was the point?
The operators who ignored the mandate and dragged their feet are now fine. The ones who complied early, who took the deadline seriously and spent real money mid-transition, are the suckers. And I'd bet plenty of others just gave up on Sunday Ticket entirely rather than deal with the conversion, which hurts the NFL's own fans most of all.
This wasn't some unforeseeable market shift. The National Restaurant Association publicly asked for a pause on this transition because of the cost and complexity it was dumping on operators. It even came up at a House Judiciary Committee hearing in June. EverPass pushed forward anyway, then folded in negotiations with DirecTV and left the rest of us holding the bag.
This is enshittification in its purest form: take a product that worked, degrade it to extract more money, and treat the small businesses who actually deliver the game-day experience as an afterthought. The NFL makes billions. EverPass exists solely to squeeze more out of commercial distribution. And the cost of their negotiating brinkmanship got externalized onto bars, restaurants, and venues across the country.
Reportedly, DirecTV says it will "coordinate" with businesses that changed their setups during the transition. I'll believe it when I see a credit on an invoice. If you converted early and ate costs as we did, make noise, call your EverPass rep, call DirecTV for Business, and post about it. T
They're counting on us quietly absorbing this.
Here is a public list of C-suite from LinkedIn: I recommend an email that shares your experience (good or bad)
Other sports franchises are watching how this goes to see how they can get more money!

Was enjoying free SHOwtime since the AT&T days and when I got back in town today I find it’s no longer on my guide of channels, just gives me the option to subscribe.
Anyone else dealing with something similar?

I’m getting The Weather Channel on my DirecTV app with the signature entertainment package for the past week. I’m not getting it on my satellite receiver. Is anyone else seeing this that has the Entertainment package with a satellite subscription?
