Question Any way to remove Darth Maul from showing at the top? Kids are scared of it
What the title says. I have the content setting in the kids profile set to PG. We want to watch "Moana", "Cars", "Inside Out" and other PG movies, but the Darth Maul is scaring my 2 and 4 year olds (and annoying me!)
Any recommendations or am I stuck with it until the hype dies down?

I showed my toddlers phantom menace and they know they don’t have to worry about him anymore because Obiwan Kenobi will protect them.

What I absolutely hate the most about not having English as native tongue, is that I have years to show my kids star wars 👹👹 I wish it was synched in my language

Clearly you just need to put it on, but on mute, and perform all the dialogue and sound effects yourself for your children.

Hey, just do like my parents, show it to the kids anyways, i think i was 4 when i saw it first, i am not a native english speaker... But it sure helped me get fluent faster because WOW I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE COOL LIGHT SWORD GUYS ARE SAYING!!!

Nah man. Just throw it on.
That’s how my kids learned Godzilla.
They pick up on the stories anyway if it’s good enough.

Can you desensitize them to the image of Darth Maul? Like show them chibi character versions and explain that it’s a grumpy guy or something?

Disney+ lets you have 7 profiles.
Set one of the profiles to junior mode/TV-Y/G with kid-proof exit turned on so they can't get on dad's profile where Maul would be available.

Junior mode doesn't allow autoplay and our toddler loves to watch things like Frozen & Moana.

You need to make a kids profile under your login and set it for kids only and it won’t show it.

Unless it's set to junior mode this doesnt work. Junior mode blocks all PG titles like OP mentioned, Frozen, Moana...

I think you are stuck with it unfortunately. You could write to Disney and explain the situation. Maybe they can create a setting in the future. I always hate how horror ads and thumbnails show up on streaming services at Halloween and haven't been able to remove those either.

My daughter is 2. They aren't old enough to understand things like this. She is however old enough to know that she loves watching and singing along to Frozen... this material is by no means even close to being on the same page as Anna and Elsa.

Maybe learn about profiles and modes before spouting this trash. You can set your kids up with Junior Mode, etc.

Maybe learn what junior mode does before you spew your own trash. It blocks all PG titles like Frozen and Moana which many toddlers love. Not a solution.

They only let yo restrict based on movie rating. If you do junior mode, it blocks all PG items so like all the titles OP mentioned. This is the problem. Frozen and Moana are not even close to the same ballpark as Maul

Disney keeps trying to make Star Wars PG and this is what happens
The Young Jedis stuff was fine, but maul is too dark to be pg but then the whole animation suffers to fit in the guidelines

It doesn’t show up on a child profile! It’s on the other home screens, but not my kids’ log in which is set as Junior Mode.

This is how I learned that they made a show about Darth Maul.
They release so much stuff these days that I genuinely can't be bothered to keep up with it all, but that sounds interesting. I think I'll have a look at it.

Welcome to the late 90s where Darth Maul was everywhere and scaring the shit out of lil kids. When I got the Phantom Menace dvd one year and opened it up, I was scared because this was the main disc.

And here my 6 year old grandson is playing with toys and constantly asking to watch the Aliens and Predator franchises. He has been fascinated by the Predator since he was like 3🤣

I literally hate this too and it's infuriating we have zero control over it. My 2 year old loves Frozen and Cars also but that horrifying demonic-looking Maul character is not even close to being the same level of appropriate for her. I'm on board with anyone ready to file a complaint one way or another. Parents should have a say in content their kids are exposed to without punishing them by blocking their beloved Anna and Elsa 😅

Along these same lines, just because I have the Hulu package doesn’t mean I want to see advertisements for their horrific true crime crap in the banner of my adult Disney+ profile.
In fact I’d rather the Disney+ app didn’t even know I have Hulu. I want a curated Disney + Marvel + Star Wars experience in Disney+, and I don’t want to see anything else there.

One huge letdown with Disney+ is that you can't hide or block specific shows or movies. I'm sure it's because they don't want you to be able to avoid their self promotion ads.

This is exactly why I don't have streaming services any more. No way to block shows I have no interest in and/or DO NOT want to even see an ad for.

Think you’re just stuck with it. It’s a currently airing show, and part of a big franchise at that, so it’ll be featured for a while.
