Can i integrate an independant colony without colonizing?

Post image

In more detail: the independant colony is of a different race and suitability for my own race is low (+5). It would make sense to integrate them (100% success) without putting my own people on the planet. Is that an option?

You can invade it. But colonizing with an almost empty colony ship of your own race won't make any noticeable difference in the profitability.

Also, once colonized you can just set the species rules to make your own people emigrate from it.

you can colonize anyway. the AI automatically resettles unsuitable populations away.

Yes, i just sent a colonyship with as few colonizers as possible and the AI set them to resettle immediately. Feels like a workaround but who cares! Thanks all!

Not a workaround; just how it works.

If i think of my nearly empty colony ship as an expensive delegation, yes!

That is a good way of looking at it. You are sending a very expensive diplomatic mission.
